Kate Hudson refuses to see ailing grandma

Kate Hudson‘s dad, Bill Hudson, says his daughter refuses to visit her 88-year-old grandmother, who has Alzheimer’s. “I have called Kate and texted her dozens of times begging her to help her grandmother, but she hasn’t responded to me,” Bill told radaronline.com. He also revealed that he divorced Kate’s mother, Goldie Hawn, because she cheated on him with several men and asked for an open marriage. Bill heard the news that Kate was pregnant again from his son — Kate’s brother — Oliver Hudson. “I love Kate, but I think she has been contrived and destructive with me and with her other brothers and sisters. She has done stuff which is just awful,” Bill reveals. He says all he wants is for Kate to contact with her grandmother. “Kate doesn’t have to talk to me, and she doesn’t have to give her a dime of her millions,” he explained. “All I want is for her to call and say, ‘Hi, Grandma’ before it’s too late.”

So that’s why Goldie and Kurt never bothered to get married, they have an open relationship.

This is only one side of the story and I am always hesitant to believe those that “tell all”.
Regardless of why Goldie divorced from Kate’s father, Kate must have her reasons for not having a relationship with her biological father…and I doubt those reasons are because Goldie cheated on Bill once upon a time. I wish people would stop airing dirty laundry in public…it only serves to further damage the relationship.

I’m with Heather on this. This isn’t the whole story, so I’m not going to judge. If Kate doesn’t want to see her grandmother, she probably has her reasons. Maybe she doesn’t want to remember her grandmother with Alzheimer’s and if she’s pregnant, well that can cause emotions that maybe she’s not ready to for if visiting the GM. That’s just me giving Kate the benefit of the doubt. It’s the first I’ve actually heard anything negative about her, so not sure how to take that.

Heather on January 20, 2011 1:58 PM, jjones on January 20, 2011 2:12 PM i completely agree with you both.

honestly, what “help” could kate give someone who more than likely has NO IDEA who kate even is? im not saying its right not to visit, but for kate, it just MIGHT be right. people with alzheimers often get scared and over react when they see all these new people claiming to be relatives, maybe she is more concerned about her grandmothers well being than her dad thinks she is. i cant understand, for the life of me, why a father would want to go to the tabloids or the press and say such terrible things about his child. i wonder how he figured this would HELP his relationship with his daughter?!?

If it’s true that Bill Hudson always asked Goldie Hawn to stop dissing him and asked why she was doing it and she laughed and said: “Ah Bill, it makes for a better story.” Then that makes Goldie Hawn a witch for making Bill look bad to her children and for turning them against him. And, the fact that Kate Hudson cannot find it in her heart to even contact her grandmother enough to just say: ‘Hello.’ Well, that makes her downright cold.
