Kate Middleton blamed for topless photo scandal

By Tribute on September 18, 2012 | 11 Comments

Donald Trump isn’t one to keep his opinions to himself so it figures he’d have something to say about the recent scandal involving topless photos of Kate Middleton being published in a French tabloid. But he only blames one person for the photos being released, and it’s not the tabloid. “Kate Middleton is great—but she shouldn’t be sunbathing in the nude—only herself to blame,” Trump tweeted last night. He followed that up with another post reading, “Who wouldn’t take Kate’s picture and make lots of money if she does the nude sunbathing thing. Come on Kate!” Trump isn’t the only one sounding off on the scandal. Last week, Piers Morgan tweeted a similar point of view, writing, “Of course Kate’s entitled to privacy, and this was a grotesque invasion, but sunbathing topless near a public road’s just daft.” The publication that originally released the photos has since been slapped with an injunction banning them from publishing the pictures any further. They’ve also been ordered to hand the pictures over to the royal couple and are not allowed to sell them to any other media.

Unfortunately, I’ll have to agree that being a celebrity (in this case royalty) will take a bit more common sense knowing that the paparazzi can and will be everywhere. Yes this is disgusting, however, just like a journalist – they will do and try anything that will get them a story. It’s human nature.

I was as shocked as anyone to first hear of this news, but it seems like an error in judgement on Kate’s part… that’s all. Life goes on.

The photographer was half a mile away, that is a Peeping Tom and jail is the only solution to this gross invasion of privacy!

gives no one the right to take anybody’s photos when they are in their private homes/resort etc…

even for a nobody like me… if someone where to do that to me… i would sue too…

I know better than to walk around partially or completely naked when I’m outside the privacy of my own home. Common sense trumps privacy concerns here. She should have known better. I can’t help but wonder if she hoped to be snapped. Not like she just slipped her top off while she was lying down in the sun. Not very regal, decorous, and certainly not very mindful of (inevitable) consequences.

She is creating a buzz, ala Seinfeld 🙂

I think every effort was made to be in private. There is a common saying “what people do in the privacy of their own homes is their business..” Well in this case or the case of celebs who have Paparrazzi /stalkers, I guess they aren’t afforded that right as a human being?
They are Royal family and will be vindicated. Now if she was on a public European beach topless, then different story.

The Prince who was nude at the bar and pics were taken, nothing much can be done about that because it was clearly intentional and in public. Different scenario and different situation and no legal recourse.

Definitely agree with C-dub and a few of the others. It’s her fault that some guy used a long lens to snap pictures of her on private property, from a half mile away? Ridiculous, and so are the people who think that.

…and Donald Trump only has himself to blame for being a loudmouthed douchebag.

I should add that, by Donalds faulty logic, I should blame myself for showering naked because some peeping tom drilled a hole in my bathroom and took photos of me without my knowledge.

Someone needs to sew Donalds mouth shut and break whichever finger that ape uses to type. F8KKING MORON!!

I have to agree with “The Donald” and Piers… when you are so high on the scale of cebebritydom (I don’t know if that’s a word)you have to aware that the eyes are on you 24/7 and when there’s big money to be had, the stakes are even higher. Of course, I agree she’s entitled to her privacy, rights, etc. but,she know has learned “who she is” and what regular people will do to get a piece to that royal pie.In over 60 yr. has there been one scandal with the Queen’s modesty… no.
