Kate Winslet, an anti-fur advocate, was duped into posing on a real fur blanket during a photo shoot for Vanity Fair. Apparently the magazine told Winslet the blanket was faux-fur but in reality was a $14,677 silver fox fur throw. Vanity Fair has apologized to the Revolutionary Road actress for the major mix-up. A spokeswomen for Vanity Fair told The Daily Mail, “Although there were both real and fake furs on set, the fur used in the photograph is real. We thought Miss Winslet was aware of this and we’re sorry for the miscommunication. The magazine also claims Winslet was not airbrushed.
