Katherine Heigl says Grey’s isn’t up to snuff

Katherine HeiglKatherine Heigl did not submit her name in consideration for an Emmy bid this year because she didn’t think the writing for her role as Izzie Stevens on the hit series Grey’s Anatomy this year was good enough. In a written statement released by her publicist, Heigl says: “I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization” she decided against competing. “In addition, I did not want to potentially take away an opportunity from an actress who was given such materials.” Heigl, who recently starred on the big screen in the hit comedies 27 Dresses and Knocked Up, is known in Hollywood for speaking her mind.

again! what the hell is with hollywood cry babies having temper tantrums blaming everyone else for their “lack of success”? here’s a tip maybe if you weren’t so demanding and acted like a respectable actress maybe just maybe you would have a bigger plot line in your show. just a thought but blaming the writers is like yelling at your waitress..bad move.

There was another famous blonde who was known for speaking her mind and being difficult. Her name was Veronica Lake. She ended up waiting tables by the time she reached her fifties.

You people need to give your heads a shake. The girl can act! I agree with her, being a huge Grey’s fan since the onset. This years scripts were really crappy. You can only act with what they give you, which this year wasn’t much for any of the characters (thanks writer’s strike). The stories and characters were basically coasting this year. Hopefully the writers will get back to what made the show great at the beginning and the actors will be able to show their true abilities. I’m with you all the way Katherine! It takes a lot of guts to speak your mind and not care what others say. Sounds to me like those criticizing cow-tow to everyone elses whim. You stick with your ideals. At least they’re yours and not the simple-minded majority’s copy-cat attitude. Dare to be a rebel.

nichole – i don’t think you’re being fair. unless you know her personally i don’t think you should be so harsh and judgmental. to me she wasn’t blaming the writers, simply that her story line this season wasn’t as good. and so she wouldn’t want to take away the spot of another actress who WAS given a good storyline. you were way accusatory and went too far. she isn’t being a cry baby and i don’t at all see that statement being about her lack of success of her entire career. come on. get a grip. she just doesn’t want to win something she doesn’t deserve. relax yourself. maybe you’re the one with built up anger…

the guy above me – funny!
