The fallout continues for comedian Kathy Griffin after she posed for a photo taken by famed photographer Tyler Shields, which showed her posing with the fake and bloodied head of U.S. President Donald Trump.
In addition to being dropped by Squatty Potty for their ad campaign, TMZ reports that news giant CNN has fired Griffin. This means she won’t be joining anchor Anderson Cooper on their yearly New Year’s Eve Special in 2018, which she’s been part of since 2007.
Cooper also lent his voice to the droves of criticism coming in against Griffin’s antics, saying, “For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in. It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate.”
Things are only getting worse for the comedian, who posed with the fake, but still gruesome, severed head of the controversial U.S. President, which reportedly terrified his young son, Barron, who thought his father was dead when he saw the photo on television.
Even though she released an apology Tuesday (May 30) night, the Secret Service is reportedly investigating the incident, which it takes very seriously and as no laughing matter. Chances are, they will seek to interview both Griffin and Shields about the photo.
