Katie Holmes play bombs on Broadway

The play Katie Holmes is starring in on Broadway is meeting an early demise just six weeks after opening. Dead Accounts received poor reviews when it opened on  November 29 and is now scheduled to close January 6 after 27 previews and only 44 performances. Last week’s ticket sales were the worst of any show currently on Broadway, with only 38 per cent of seats filled. The show is Katie’s second time in a Broadway play. She previously appeared in the 2008 production of Arthur Miller’s All My Sons. In the comedy Dead Accounts, Katie played Lorna, the mousy sister of a man who returns home with a secret. Katie divorced Tom Cruise last year after six years of marriage.
