Kevin Bacon reprimands supposed fan

Kevin Bacon was mortified when he mistakenly reprimanded a woman he thought wanted a photograph of him. The actor was enjoying a meal out in Los Angeles with his wife Kyra Sedgwick when the incident occurred. The pair were eating when a woman seated near them got up and began walking towards them, clutching a camera. “No, no! We’re just having a quiet dinner. Please respect that,” Kevin spluttered, according to a source. The woman immediately blushed deeply and apologized. She explained she simply hoped that he or his wife would take a picture of her and her pals to commemorate their meal out, prompting Kevin to apologize profusely. “Oh! I thought you wanted to take a picture of us,” he laughed. He then stood and took the photograph, much to the woman’s delight, though she remained confused by the encounter until someone explained to her that Kevin and Kyra are Hollywood celebrities.

Is anyone else laughing at this…you know your time has past when your asked to take a picture of a stranger and their friends at a table and the stranger asking you has no idea who you are. Classic!

Kevin is so cute. I’d like to eat his Bacon for breakfast and even dinner. I will even let him eat my Bacon because Ben loves Bacon!

Hold your laughter…Believe it or not…there are people out there with no idea of who is a celebrity and who isn’t. Nor do they care. I have a few friends who have no interest in the entertainment world, wouldn’t know Kevin Bacon from a hill of beans…doesn’t mean he is “over the hill”…He and recent Emmy winning wife Kyra are tops in my books. Nice, down to earth people.

This story reminds me of a funny incident that a reporter acquaintance of mine related to me involving a celebrity who he was interviewing for the local newspaper during a film shoot in Newfoundland. He and the actor had met at a pub, where Mister Big Shot Movie Star seemed was very concious of keeping his ball cap pulled tightly down on his head, convinced that he would surely be mobbed by the other bar patrons, should they become aware of his celebrity status. When a man approached the table and said “Excuse me…”, the actor rolled his eyes, as if to say “Oh no, not another autograph hound” or something to that effect. The man continued “are you (the reporter’s name)?” – it turns out they knew each other in university, and wanted to say hello. After chatting with the reporter for a minute, the man glanced towrards the actor, whose ego had surely been bruised by not being recognised. The actor held out his hand saying “Hi, I’m Kevin Spacey”, to which the reporter’s friend replied “Nice to meet you – do you work for the newspaper also?”

LOL, great story Buzz! I think most actors have an inflated sense of who they are. They don’t realize a huge portion of the population has never seen their a) TV show, or b) any movie they’ve been in, and/or doesn’t read entertainment news. But because they have “fans” who recognize them, they think everyone knows them.
