Two Australian actors–Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe—have been named the two most overpaid actors by Forbes magazine. Although both are Oscar winners, their massive salaries exceed the box office performance of their latest movies. Kidman was paid $15 million for The Golden Compass, which cost $200 million to make but earned only $26 million in its opening weekend. Crowe’s A Good Year cost $35 million but earned only $7.5 million at the box office, while Cinderella Man cost $88 million, earning only $62 million back for the studio. Crowe commands between $15 million and $20 million per picture.
