Kiefer Sutherland making his Broadway debut

Kiefer Sutherland will make his Broadway debut in the drama That Championship Season. The 43-year-old actor will appear alongside Sex and the City star Chris Noth in the New York production, which is a revival of Jason Miller’s 1972 play. Jason Patric will also appear in the show, to be directed by Gregory Mosher. That Championship Season tells the story of four former college students who are reunited with their basketball coach 20 years after winning the state championship and reminisce about their younger years. Even though they have remained friends, none of them have achieved what they wanted to in life and still look to their coach for guidance. Kiefer will reportedly play James Daley – a local junior high school principal, while Jason will play James’ brother Tom Daley, who is described as an unsuccessful, cynical alcoholic. Chris is rumored to have the role of Phil Romano – a millionaire who appears to be having an affair with the wife of one of his friends. When the show first opened on Broadway it won a Pulitzer Prize for drama and a Tony Award for best play.
