Kilmer takes over as KITT

Val KilmerThe new NBC series Knight Rider, based on the 1980s series starring David Hasselhoff, has lost Will Arnett as the voice of KITT, the talking car. General Motors, for whom Arnett works as an announcer for GMC Trucks, asked him to drop the role, claiming a conflict of interest because KITT is a Ford Mustang. Arnett had already recorded several completed episodes, but he’ll be replaced both in the completed episodes and upcoming ones by Val Kilmer.

I didn’t know they were bringing Knight Rider back. I liked that waaay back then, when I was a teenager. Wonder if I will still like it, or if it will still be geared more towards the younger set? Only one way to find out, I’ll have to watch it.
Wouldn’t you think Arnett would make more money doing the voice of Kitt? I’d have dropped GM, but then again he probably has more job security at GM.

It’s really too bad that Kitt is coming back as a Mustang. The show would be 10 times better if they make him out of the new Camaro.

Hey Anonymous that’s a matter of opinion. Camaro is all show and Mustang is all go!

It’ll be great to see Hasselhoff back behind the wheel.

Yeah that bumble bee is hot. But the Mustang has been an icon for a long time in style and speed.
Hasselhoff behind the wheel?? He’ll drink to that. “Hey Kitt can ya, can ya get me to the liquor store quick”?

At least all the other people on the street would be SAFE as long as Kitt does the driving while Hasselhoff is pickled!! Paris, Lilo, Britney, Kirsten, Amy, Eva and now Rosie O’Donell also need a ‘KITT’!!!

You may be onto something there. You may be onto something.

They should have gotten Matt LeBlanc to do the voice. Whenever Michael gets in the car, KITT says, “How YOU doin’???”

I think my fav car is probably the Dodge Charger. Seriously, I love it. I also love Mustangs, but I have never cared for Camaro’s that much. When does this show air, anyway?
