Lady Gaga fires back at politician

Earlier this week, Staten Island Borough President James Molinaro called pop entertainer Lady Gaga a “slut” at an anti-drug youth program launch. Gaga’s offense? Smoking a joint on stage in Amerstdam and Molinaro thought it only right to use Gaga as an example, saying, “This slut is influencing many, many children.” Luckily, one of Molinaro’s fellow NYC politicians has piped up to show his support for Gaga. Scott Stringer, President of the Manhattan Borough — Gaga’s old stomping grounds — posted a tweet calling the pop diva a “symbol of individuality and artistic expression.” At 52, Stringer seems much more in touch with the times than his politico counterpart Molinaro — who is nearly 30 years Stringer’s senior — and Gaga has even personally thanked Stringer for his compliment. Via Twitter, Gaga told Stringer, “thanku for your support of my activism as a New Yorker (sic)”, going on to say, “You show political integrity + a modern vernacular.” Gaga’s tweet is clearly a reference to Molinaro’s antiquated use of the word ‘slut’ and with no Twitter account for Molinaro to even follow up with, there has been no response to the celeb’s witty retort. ~Brandon Bastaldo
