Lady Gaga phones 12-year-old fan

Lady Gaga telephoned a “sweet and talented” schoolboy to praise him for his cover of ‘Paparazzi’. The chart-topping pop star gave 12-year-old Greyson Chance – who has become an internet sensation after his rendition of the song became a YouTube hit – a surprise phone call during his appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday (13.05.10). She told him: “Greyson, you’re so sweet and so talented, and I was so excited that you covered ‘Paparazzi’. Everyone loves you so much. Just keep following your dreams and work really hard, and stay away from girls and be focused.” The video of Greyson has been viewed by over 11 million people and thousands of fans have commented on the youngster’s natural talent. One wrote: “I got goose bumps listening to his voice. Very talented! Just beautiful.” Another said: “I was in total shock when I found out you were 12. Greyson, your voice is amazing! You have that rare tone of vocals that drives girls crazy.” Justin Bieber, move over!

Well, Justin Bieber is 16 and he still hasn’t hit puberty… so this kid has at least four years. And he has incredible piano skills, writes his own music and when his voice changes, he’s still going to be able to sing. I think if he gets the right backing, he’s going to be around for awhile. When I first saw this video I couldn’t believe it, most kids freeze up in front of their peers but he’s putting so much emotion into it! At first I was amazed just for the piano playing, but when he started singing, that really blew me away!

He is a good singer…not great. He does however have excellent piano skills and that combined with his vocals should take him a long way.

I think he’s great. I want to download his version onto my iPod, I like it better than Lady Gaga’s version. I hope he gets to record it soon.
