Heather Ledger drug video shelved

By Alexandra Heilbron on February 2, 2008 | 7 Comments

Heath LedgerEntertainment Tonight producers have shelved a video allegedly showing Heath Ledger at a party drinking and using drugs. The footage was taken at a Hollywood party in 2006, and mainly shows Heath sitting next to a man who was snorting cocaine, while the Brokeback Mountain star discusses his own drug use.

The news show aired teaser footage during its Wednesday night broadcast in preparation to show the full clip on Thursday. But after being bombarded by angry phone calls from celebrities and publicists, threatening not to have anything to do with the show again if the tape was shown, Entertainment Tonight axed the video.

I have to say I’m glad that they didn’t show the footage. It is not necessary. But I also have to say that this article is pretty much doing what the video would have done. It is sad that Heath Ledger did drugs, but he is gone now. So I say lets give him some respect and let him rest in peace.

Yeah, it’s time to just leave him alone. What’s done is done.

    Yup, occasionally.

A movie star doing drugs. That’s hardly sensational. What matters is that he was a very good actor and it’s really sad that he died so young. RIP Heath!

Who taped this clip anyway? Don’t you think it’s a little odd to be at a party where people are snorting coke, someone’s walking around with a video camera, and everyone there is OK with that? I would have expected everyone to put a pounding on the guy with the camera.

It seems to me that when an actor dies or ends up in the news over a scandal, anyone and everyone jumps on the bandwagon to bring them down. These actrs and actresses are just human beings like us. Why do others feel so threatened by them then go and try to make themselves look better? To me, these people are way lower on the pole than before they jumped on that bandwagon.
