Les Miserables tops Billboard chart

The big screen adaptation of Les Misérables was a hit at the box office but it’s also coming out on top in the music department. The film’s soundtrack rose one spot to hit number one on this week’s Billboard 200 chart, beating out big artists like Mumford & Sons, Taylor Swift and One Direction. Although sales for the film’s soundtrack showed a 32 per cent decline, it still managed to surpass its contenders with 92,000 albums sold in the week, according to data collected by Nielsen SoundScan. The tracks on the album feature live singing by the star-studded cast, which includes Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried.

I love the movie, but I’m going to get the original London cast recording from the stage, the singing’s much better.

Loved it. So wonderful to see a movie that you can walk out at the end and feel good with the music still singing in your mind. Critics don’t know what they’re talking about.

I truly enjoyed it! (Russell Crowe could have been replaced, and Amanda Seyfried too..but was OKAY)..I can say it was well worth it! Great job to all the actors/actresses that made this movie a hit..Hugh Jackman, and Anne Hathaway stole my emotions hands down!
