Liam Neeson dropped from Hangover 2

Liam Neeson, who took over the role originally offered to Mel Gibson in The Hangover Part II, will not be appearing in the movie after all. Even though Neeson had completed filming all his scenes, the director, Todd Phillips, decided he needed some reshoots. Unfortunately, Neeson is already at work on Clash of the Titans 2 and is not available, so Phillips has recast the role. The director initially offered the role to Gibson months ago, but backed down after cast members objected. The scenes are now being reshot with actor Nick Cassavetes. The Hangover Part II trailer was already shown in some theaters in the States, but was yanked after it was discovered the spot hadn’t been cleared with the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). In the trailer, a monkey imitated a lewd act. The Hollywood Reporter reported that the trailer, which is rated R, debuted April 1 as a preview for Source Code, which is rated PG-13 in the States. A revised trailer will be seen in theaters this Friday.

i always notice its the same people that feel the need to insult people that are in or comment on the article, it gets boring and petty after a while.
Dang, well hopefully it will be funny still. I couldn’t see Liam Neeson in a funny roll (if his roll was meant to be humorous, that is), but at least he was a good actor. I’m curious what the roll is/was.
Either way, I will see this movie.
I think the director is pretty stupid for losing a great actor like Liam Neeson. What does he want to do a reshoot for when the film is already done and the trailer’s already in theatres? That’s poor planning, is it so bad they have to redo it at the last minute?

i didnt mean you, i meant the one calling the director names because he didnt like the directors choice, the same one thats insulting people on a different article for choosing to eat meats. people can voice their opinions without being rude towards the people they disagree with.
Okay, let me explain. First the director bows to pressure and says fine let’s dump Mel. Then he can’t get his act together, loses all the time Liam put in and has to reshoot with yet another actor. That is not a director who knows what the hell he’s doing. I have every right to voice my opinion here without getting called names or being complained about, mandee. These articles are here for us to comment on.
i didnt call you names, nor did i “complain” i merely stated my opinion on the fact that you have to always insult someone that is commenting on, or is in the article. i only explained who i meant because i didnt want to offend germain. what i did say was that it “gets petty and boring” when instead of commenting on the article and whats happening people simply use negative, disparaging remarks about the other people.
Well I find it petty and boring when you come on here and insult other people who are commenting. I’m not the first you’ve done it to and I think it’s counterproductive. Everytime someone states an opinion you don’t agree with, you shut it down with “petty and boring.” Why don’t you let people make statements and have opinions without shooting them down?

mandee, it’s okay, no need to get so worked up. Not everyone has a 3-digit IQ. You don’t have to feel inferior because of that.
More money than brains is what it is. Waste of freaking cash. No one cares about Neeson’s part anyways, lol. I’m not saying he’s not a good actor cuz he is but this is the Hangover…PART ‘TWO’..no one is even going to remember his role. They will go see it to laugh their butts off at the original cast who had them laughing their butts off in the first one!

This is my first time reading a post on this site and I have to say it’s very funny how people get worked up about what others say.
BTW, trailers are always promoted way in advance of the final cut of the film, so it is impossible to know what the final film will be. A large number of directors have to do re-shoots due to their final editing or they shoot many additional scenes that do not make the cut.
It is just unfortunate circumstances that Liam Neeson was not available for the re-shoots which is why they had to recast his role.
