Lindsay Lohan snubbed by Obama’s peeps

lilo.jpgLindsay Lohan has been snubbed by Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama and his team. Chicago Sun-Times columnist Bill Zwecker wrote this week that a source in Obama’s campaign told him Lohan, whose career has taken a nosedive after her DUI arrest last year, wanted to help the U.S. Presidential nominee. She said she believed she could carry his message to younger voters and offered to host a series of events. However, Obama’s campaign quietly and politely told her that her public image is not something they would like associated with the Chicago senator. A top source in Barack Obama’s team said that Lohan “is not exactly the kind of high-profile star who would be positive for us.” Sorry Li-lo, it’s a no-go.

Well, I really don’t believe anyone will blame Obama & his ‘peeps’…I mean, really! More harm than good. Like carrying dead weight. Come on, the guy is a hair away from becoming President….does she really think he is stupid enough to be used by her to re-ignite her flame?

I definetly think Mr Obama and his team are correct, but it is still not a good thing to say that someone can not help because of their “image”. I think that was wrong and maybe they should had say that they had people already and be nice to her. If Obama wants to win every single support and vote, all the American citizen must counts, as long as the people responsible are well mannered and political aware of everything that is happening around them he must allow them to help otherwise people will think he choose people which is what he did

I think she was just trying to help, He should of at least thanked her and put a sock in it.

He will probably get more votes by his party being rude to her rather than nice!

Good for him. Her intentions were in the right place, but she has some fixing up to do before she can pull off something like that!

Senator Obama made the right decision.Politics is all about perception and having someone like Lindsay Lohan orchestrating a series of youth-oriented events for him just wouldn`t be a good idea. Her wild child reputation, dui arrests and drug-related problems make her a liability.Anyone running for public office needs to be seen as a upstanding person and they can`t afford to be associated with anything that could potentially derail their bid for office.
Lohan may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but I think her heart was in the right place,if she really wants to help Barack Obama she might be better off just staying out of the way and keeping quiet which is actually what another Obama supporter George Clooney said he would be willing to do.

Obama has just proven what a snob he is. I’m positive that every vote he gets won’t be from only the most perfect human beings…..so what will he do? Reject the votes from those who he doesn’t think are good or decent enough? Lindsay is all American, and just as entitled to contribute as anyone else, and she’s right, she does influence quite a few of the young crowd. His stinking attitude only proves what an elitist and rich snob he is, instead of someone well suited to serve the American people……the American people of ALL types and walks of life. I think he should be happy for all the help he can get. And Lindsay is just trying to do something good and helpful with her life. What’s wrong with that? Doesn’t Mr. Hussein Obama WANT Lindsay’s types to try to reform themselves and do something constructive and serve the public? What does he think America is made up of? It’s made up of waaaaay more than just the rich and perfect people, it’s made up of the poor, the misguided, the addicted. When every single vote counts, I really don’t think beggars can, or should be choosers.

    What you talkn bout Nancy?
I think Steven Harpen could sway the under 22 voters in Toronto with help from Lindsay Lohan. The 22 being IQ of course.

good comment, Minerva, every vote counts….
God knows America is full of a variety of people from many walks of life

If Lohan has really created such a negative public image, Obama shouldn’t have to support her for it. P.S. Younger voters aren’t stupid, there are important things to consider than what celebrities do or don’t support them.

    hee hee!!

Yes Minerva, every vote does count and no one said that Lindsay couldn’t vote. Obama just does not want to be directly linked to Lindsay and her ‘problems’….and I am sure most would agree! Read the article again, she wanted to get totally involved and “host a series of events”….which would directly link her right to him and, in all reality, that would cause him to LOSE votes. Like I said earlier, the guy is so close to becoming the next President of the United States, do you honestly believe he is a stupid person who would do something so stupid? She is trying to use him to re-ignite her own career!!

    Ash: it’s just you.
