Lindsay Lohan to serve only 2 weeks in jail

By Alexandra Heilbron on July 22, 2010 | 14 Comments

Looks like Lindsay Lohan will serve only 14 days of her 90-day jail sentence for violating probation, even less than the 23 days it was reported earlier she would serve. “She is scheduled to be released on either Aug. 1 or 2 for overcrowding issues and good behavior,” L.A. Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore told People.com. The L.A. County jail system’s policy is to release nonviolent misdemeanor offenders early when there’s overcrowding, which it seems is an ongoing problem. Lohan, 24, is currently biding her time in a 12′ by 8′ cell for 23 hours a day. She gets one hour out of the cell per day to take a shower and make phone calls.

I am disgusted in the criminal justice system for this. What kind of message is this sending to the average teenager?

I can see it now Lindsay coming out of jail singing “Because the old black rum’s got a hold on me
Like a dog wrapped round my leg. And the old black rum’s got a hold on me. Will I live for another day? Hey, Will I live for another day?…”

Really?? 1 hour each day to still talk to her BFF’s and such? Who pays for her phone bill which I’m sure is going to be a full hour.

Over crowding is poor excuse for her limited engagment in prison. This also looks bad on American penal system. So, if a murderer is sentenced to prison, do they have to find someone inside who is maybe just a car thief and say they get out early because we now have to pick and choose which crimes get to stay in longer or first come first out?

Poor little girl , not so . Selfdistructive ,a slave to her life style . Chosen not forced. And a very talented manipulater .
She is already in a prison. Larger than life it self.
Only she does’nt chose to do any thing to make life more than just another day . She is the only life line she has: when she choses to do so . Pity only feed’s the pain!!! So what’s so good about feel’in “BAD”.

Ok overcrowding obviously is an issue granted. But she shound not get off scott-free there needs to be real consequences for her. She is already thumbing her nose at the system. She should have to do community service like clean up the park after drunkin binges or work at an alcholics recovery centre. Or a homeless shelter for families. Something that will make her see what real people with actual issues have to deal with. Unlike her poor me, I am so spoiled. Give me a break.

She won’t be talking to her friends on the phone for the hour she is out. She probably will be yelling at her lawyer on the phone. “14 %&@#ING DAYS IS TOO LONG!! I WANT OUT NOW!!”
Lindsay, Paris, Britney all think the world revolves around them. When the real world invades thier turf they can’t handle it.

This is pathetic, Lindsay was sentenced to 90 days in jail. Now she is only in jail for two weeks? This si sos fucked up, the justice system is so out of whack. L:indsay needs to serve her 90 days, this could help her. But for her to only have to serve 14 days out of the 90 days she was supposed to serve because of “overcrowding,” is just letting her know that she can get off easy.

If overcrowding is such an issue, why aren’t the rest of these peoples’ sentences finished as house arrest and community service?

This is BS! Move her to another jail. Shes never going to learn her lesson with a slacking justice system trying to conserve on budget cost due to overcrowding. Obviosuly someone is not doing their job right.

I DONT’T THINK JAIL TIME IS GOING TO HELP HER AT ALL.
SHE HAD TO WANT HELP IN ORDER TO GET WELL. SHE DOESN’T SEE THAT SHE HAS A PROBLEM IT’S NOT HER IT’S EVERYONE ELSE WHO HAS A PROBLEM.
SHE HAS NO ONE TO BLAME BUT HERSELF FOR THE MESS SHE’S IN AS SHE GOING TO DO IT HER NO MATTER WAHT.

IN THE COURT ROOM SHE PUT ON THE BIG TEARS BUT REMEMBER WHAT SHE DOES FOR A LIVING SHE’S A VERY TALENTED MANIPULATER. HER TEARTS WERE AN ACT FOR US TO FEEL SORRY FOR HER.

SHE SHOULD HAVE TO SPENT HER FULL 90 DAYS IN JAIL NO MATTER WHAT 2 WEEKS IS JUST A LAUGH TO HER AND SHE WILL NEVER CHANGE IN THAT PERIOD OF TIME. SHE WILL COME OUT THE SAME SELFISH MANIPULATER THAT SHE IS.

I FOR ONE AM SICK AND TIRED OF ALL THESE YOUNG PEOPLE THINK EVERYTHING REVOLVES AROUND THEM .

THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT IT’D LIKE FOR SOME FAMILIES TO NOT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO PAY RENT, FOOD, ETC.
THEY WOULDN’T LAST A MINUTE IF THEY HAD TO STRUGGLES TO MAKE ENDS MEET. NOT A BAD IDEA INSTEAD OF PRISION GIVE HER $1000.00 TO LIVE ON FOR A MONTH THEY BE LOST IN REAL LIFE AS EVERYTHING IS HANDED TO THEM ON A SILVER PLATE.

WAKE AND SMELL THE ROSES LINDSAY, PARIS AND WHO ELSE BUT BRITNEY WHOM THEY GET A RUDE AWAKING.

It was too good to be true that she was going to be in jail for 90 days. As usual since she is a celebrity, she does not serve time for the stunt she pulled off. She is an ignorant brat who should of gone too prison for what she had done. The law system is doing a big mistake in letting her off, because it is ruining their reputation. They need to create a law that makes sure that even celebrities do the time for the crime they committed. Her first, then Conrad Black.

SO Lindsay went to court on July 20th, three days ago. She was sentenced to 90 days and yesterday, one and a half days behind bars, the powers that be decide that she will get out early for good behavior? Is she the only inmate to flush so everyone says, “Wow, such good behavior, she is not a diva at all bc she flushes her own crap.” Maybe she signed autographs for everyone but what mystifies me is the California 3 strikes and you’re out rule. Lindsay had 2 DUI’s, missed court 5 times and had a bench warrant served and a new charge making that three strikes but gets off a 90 day stint in 14 days.
Here is the kicker. A person gets arrested for possession of a weapon twice but hasn’t shot anyone and misses the trial date but gets served a bench warrant. 3 strikes. That individual is in a Cal-pen for a minimium of 10 years. How can Lindsay driving a vehicle pissed loaded (it is now a weapon) justifiably get a reduced sentence, away from the inmate population (special treatment bc she’s “famous”), and out in 14 days. I’m pulling the race card, she ain’t black, the status card, she ain’t poor, the celebrity card, she is infamous and famous, and the dumb-ass card. The judge did great. Here is the sentence that set celebrity behavior accountable. The dumb-ass card goes to the warden, councillors, and mayor’s office (district attorney’s office)that has to formally review the early release. Dumb-asses. At least 90 days is enough time for detox and intervention strategies. grrr Dumb-asses and “the have and have-nots.”

as much as the jail sentence is a joke i gotta agree with Linda. Jail does not help celebritys. 23 hours may be harsh but honestly 2 weeks is nothing.

since shes rich why dont they just give her a choice. donate 20% of her earnings to a charity like (alcohol abuse victims) every month for a minimum of 10 years.

or do some real work and learn how horrible people with real problems are and how to help them.

What’s wrong with the system? Let Lohan free! So she can share her exploits and let us live vicariously through her. I really don’t see a difference between her and some of the girls around here. Is this forum trying to be some sort of thinktank? Drink, drink drink! Post.

  14. DylanA • July 27, 2010 @ 6:29 AM

in the states it costs about $45,000 to keep an inmate in prison for a year. isnt that splendid on the national debt.

there are a lot of things wrong with the system. this is one of them.

make her donate %20 of her salaries to a worthy cause instead.
