Lone Survivor slays Hercules at weekend box office

Lone Survivor, starring Mark Wahlberg, took over as box office champ this past weekend, earning $38.5 million and a very high 4.5 star Tribute rating from visitors to the site. The animated (and Golden Globe-winning) movie Frozen was knocked to second place, taking in an additional $15 million for a grand total of $317 million at the North American box office in eight weeks. It also ranks high with Tribute viewers at 4.2 stars. The Wolf of Wall Street rose a spot to third place in its third week of release with a modest take of $9 million and 3 stars from Tribute viewers. Golden Globe winner American Hustle, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper and Amy Adams, climbed to fourth place with $8.6 million for a five-week total of $102 million and a Tribute rating of 3.3 stars. The new action movie The Legend of Hercules starring Kellan Lutz tied for fourth place with earnings of $8.6 million and 4 stars at Tribute.
