MADD wants Sutherland replaced

Kiefer Sutherland at Glendale City JailMADD Canada is asking the Ford Motor Company of Canada to replace Kiefer Sutherland in their TV ads. The 24 actor is currently behind bars after being convicted of drunk driving. Andrew Murie, CEO of Mothers Against Drunk Driving Canada, told CTV that Ford should view the conviction as a wake-up call. “Obviously as a company they’re against drunk driving, so why are they continuing to have somebody speak on behalf of their products that now has been convicted… of impaired driving?” Murie says Sutherland could easily afford to a personal driver or limousine to take him home.

Maybe he can go under contract with Smirnoff?? I do find it rather odd though, that the CEO of MADD…….is a man!! LOL.

He is replacing the woman that started MADD…she was charged with impaired a couple of years ago.

MADD is dumb. Kiefer Sutherland is the man. Who cares that he went DUI. at least he’s serving his sentence fully like a normal citizen. The MADD organization is taking this too far as to telling Ford to switch spokespersons. This is really unnecessary. Andrew Murrie should be the new spokesperson for L’oreal kids shampoo- No More Tears!
    Jack Bauer!!!!!!!!!!

MADD is not dumb. Yes Sutherland is serving his sentence like a normal citizen. But MADD has all the right in the world to question why a major car manufacturer should be a convicted impaired driver. Take a look at their Web Site and listen to a few testimonials of the families of victims of drunk drivers.

Makes the same sense as Michael Vick speaking for Alpo. Who will be the pet of a nice Prison for 2 years 🙂

He has the perfect voice for those ads. They wouldn’t be the same without him.

Yeah, but your voice changes when you’re drunk!! LOL.

They should put him in Christmas tree ads……let him get drunk and jump in!!

Quite simply, he drove drunk and he understood that. He plead GUILTY and accepted the consequences of his actions. He did’t pull any of that Paris Hilton crap, or try to justify or weasel his way out of it. He pulicly said “I was wrong”. If anything I think that alone makes him just fine for Ford.

Michael Vick won’t only be “the pet of a nice Prison for 2 years”, he’ll the ‘Pet’ of some burly guy in that prison who’ll call him ‘Vicky’ for two years!!!!

Amazing how you can get bit by a dog without being anywhere near it!!!!

As for Keifer – DO NOT give the guy a car as a parting gift; send him off in a cab.

You’d have to be drunk to buy a Ford anyways. So maybe Ford has the right spokesperson for their target demographic.

They should have locked Vick up for life.

Yup you need to be drunk to buy a Ford or to give money to MADD. At lease after you buy a Ford you never hear from anyone, but once you give money to MADD you need to go into witness protection to get them to stop calling and asking for more money!!! Thats why I’m not putting my name on this…I just lost them 🙂

They should make all drunk drivers pay a fine-payable to MADD!!

i myself prefer to see people who have broken the laws speak out to others about their mistakes and hopefully helping them avoid the same fate.

Well it seems that an awful lot of people realize that MADD has absolutely no moral high ground anymore. They should worry about cleaning up their own dishonest image before they worry about Ford’s. Madd can’t ADD should be their new slogan by the way they distort the facts of impaired driving with ‘alcohol related’ stats.
