Madonna needs to be a tougher parent

Recent photos published on the Internet of Madonna‘s daughter– 15-year-old Lourdes — smoking, have led to speculation about the Queen of Pop’s parenting styles. Madonna told Rock Center’s Harry Smith that she was unhappy with her daughter smoking and has been a tough parent in the past. “I don’t think I’m as tough as I should be. I think I need to be maybe tougher. It’s hard, every day is a negotiation. But cigarette smoking I’m not very fond of, for anyone.” Fans and critics are wondering if her music videos throughout the years have had an impact on her young daughter. In a recent video, she appeared to be smoking, but the pop diva explained, “I don’t smoke. That’s just an accessory, Harry. There’s a difference. [Lourdes] smoked that cigarette before I did that video!” Her daughter may be aware of Madonna’s music video choices, but will her younger audiences know the cigarette was just an accessory? ~Renita Naraine

Madonna spoke some hard words during her Women’s March on Washington speech and now a Texas radio station is taking her music off the air as a consequence.
It’s irresponsible of her to even use it as a prop. but if you look back on her career she had plenty of pictures and videos of her with a cigarette in her mouth.
Yes let’s blame all parents for the dumb kids their teenage kids do. I know lots of teens with VERY good parents who wind up smoking…you can’t always contorl what happens outside the home!!

Madonna is a PERFORMER…it’s her job to put on a show and play a certain part. That’s what she should be teaching her kid, that its an act
Madonna is setting a bad example by showing smoking is cool.

Okay..so maybe it’s not her fault but I find it horrible that she is making excuses. My daughter smoked BEFORE I made the video…well good on you Madonna.
This is what happens when your mother is pretty much a 50-year-old stripper…you start smoking.
