Madonna’s new ad too racy for ABC

By Tribute on March 30, 2012 | 10 Comments

The promo for Madonna‘s new fragrance, Truth or Dare, was released on YouTube yesterday but the ad is causing a stink with ABC execs, who think it’s a little too racy to be aired on television. In the 30-second spot, the 53-year-old pop queen moves around seductively in tight black, fetish-style outfits that barely cover her chest and bottom while her song “Girl Gone Wild” plays in the background. The network is reportedly asking that the video be retouched before it’s given the go-ahead for airing. “ABC viewed the ad [and] came back with a list of changes,” a source told the New York Post. “They say they want her bra digitally made bigger, and to extend higher to cover more of her chest, and her corset longer to cover more of her bottom. ABC also wants to cut another suggestive scene where Madonna writhes around.” Madonna’s music video for the ad’s accompanying track also stirred up some controversy when YouTube slapped it with a security age restriction after it was released last week because it was a little too raunchy. Here’s the video for Madonna’s new ad — leave your thoughts in the comments below!

We’ve seen way worse from her. The video is so choppy, you can’t even really see anything.

She’s old enough to be my mother. She should not be acting like a horny 18 year old teenager. This is just gross! Have you guys seen the girl gone wild music video? It’s like soft core porn!

I agree, for all to see not so good…..why do we constantly need to see half naked woman on t.v. just to try to sell something, young kids are way to far into there looks these days as it is and this kind of advertising just invokes the want for it more.

not a big deal people === people have done way worse — i guess it’s all a matter of ones perspective….there are worse things going on in this world than to focus on a perfume ad, don’t you think?

Hopefully I’ll never unsuspectingly click a link to watch the music video or the ad in question. I really would rather not watch TnA from a 53 year old plastic model of a woman(though that is my own preference). I do agree that people have probably done worse or shown more, but Madonna is still a role model, and her behavior and the examples she sets has to count for something. We need to stop excusing each other based on some belief that its okay to do wrong things because there are worse things out there.

it’s not april 1st yet,is it ? seriously ? that ad is too racy for tv? what a joke. people make such a huge deal over nothing, that it keeps it as a huge deal. if no one cared about it,then we wouldnt all be so hung up about it. ohhhh,a sexy ad. better cover my eyes…

There’s nothing wrong with that ad.
The TV execs on the other hand….

Hey Madonna? You know your a mom right? Then why the hell are you strutting around like a 20 year old wearing lingerie? Mothers should tuck you into bed, not act like sluts.

And anyways, its not that bad. We’ve seen worst from her and the execs r just overreacting.
