Although, the pair issued a joint statement that the split was amicable, sources close to Lopez and Anthony are saying they were constantly fighting.
A source close to the family said that the decision to finally split came “after months of nonstop arguing.” Sources say that Anthony had jealousy issues while she was on movie sets, major envy of her new found American Idol fame, and times that Lopez, 41, feared her husband wasn’t faithful.
Sources also say that Anthony constantly criticized Lopez’s wardrobe saying her outfits were not appropriate for a woman her age and that his compulsion to control everything from her business endeavors were taking a toll on Lopez. According to an Us Weekly source, Lopez “actually has low self-esteem. And Marc really played into that insecurity. That’s why she put up with his abuse for such a long time.”
Lopez’s mother, Guadalupe, apparently sent Ben Affleck, Lopez’s ex-fiance, an email to ask for his advice in order to help her daughter. “Guadalupe reached out to Ben over email. She wanted advice for Jennifer. She always liked and trusted him. [Ben] replied back on email, wished her well and offered what he could,” the source said
An Anthony insider disputes infidelity claims and maintains the 42-year-old always supported her career. “They started to see life differently,” he said.
