Marc Webb’s Spider-Man 2 problems

By Tribute on August 1, 2012 | 6 Comments

Marc Webb‘s The Amazing Spider-Man was a big hit at the box office, making over $650 million so far worldwide. Fans have anxiously been waiting to find out if he’ll be returning to direct the sequel, but he’s been quiet about it and now we know why – it’s not really up to him, or Sony, the studio behind Spider-Man. When he was a little-known director and created his first feature film, 500 Days of Summer, he signed a contract with Fox Searchlight, promising to make another film for them. The studio allowed him to put the contract on hold while he made The Amazing Spider-Man, however they’re unlikely to want to wait another two years (the sequel is set to release May 2014). The only solution for Webb to be able to work on the next Spider-Man film would be for him to sign an extended contract with Fox Searchlight, promising to make two more movies instead of one. ~Stacy Raivich

Wow, that IS a BIG problem…

I hope the next Spidey is better then this one. Sorry but the similarities to the Sam Raimi film was annoying to me. The only thing I liked was the advancement in CGI and the new swinging scenes.

Ya those similarities. Hahah your talking about to spiderman films lol it’s bound to have similarities. I thought it was good. I still wished they used Tobby but hey that’s just me.

I mean ie: he was cocky and failed to stop a robbery which he could have easily stopped and all out of spite towards the person being robbed. Then being in a wrestling ring and getting the idea for his masked costume that way. Those sort of things. If they wanted to re-boot they should have tried something completely different for an origin story.

I haven’t read the comics but maybe those similarities are from the original story. I mean if it’s consistant that would make sense.

Kay if you’ve never noticed both C-Dub and Suneagle drop their two cents on almost every story on here, complete with poor grammar, spelling and usually making little to no sense whatsoever. Personally, I’ve always just assumed they’re having a competition to see which one can leave the most stupid comment.
