Mariah Carey to play Vanessa Hudgens’ mom

Singer Mariah Carey is in talks to play Vanessa Hudgens‘ mother in a new movie. Vanessa, 21, who starred opposite real life boyfriend Zac Efron in High School Musical, has already been cast. A source said: “Mariah is eager to capitalize on her acclaimed performance in Precious. The only sticking point is if Mariah feels comfortable playing mom to a teenager.” Not much has been divulged about the movie, not even the title, but the source went on to say, “She would play one half of a mother and daughter singing duo who audition for a TV talent show.”
