Mark Webb unravels the Spider-Man web

When it rains it pours, at least when it comes to Spider-Man news. After the media frenzy caused by the release of the second trailer, The Amazing Spider-Man director Mark Webb spoke to the Hollywood Reporter about what to expect from his upcoming film. Referring to what makes each trailer distinct, Webb highlighted that the differences come from the stages of production they were in when the trailers were released. “We felt it was really important to give the audience a more specific idea of what the film would look like,” Webb said. “When you do a teaser trailer it’s always tricky, because we were still shooting the movie when that was being cut.” Webb explained that the second trailer focuses more on Peter Parker’s relationship with Gwen Stacy. He also acknowledged the challenges when trying to win over fans of the earlier Spider-Man movies. “People don’t know what to expect, and I think it’s really important for us to establish exactly why we believe it’s an important thing to do.” Challenges or not, Webb is pleased with the second trailer and his involvement in the movie. “How could you feel anything but good?” ~Rodrigo Cokting
