Matt Damon and Jeremy Renner team up for next Bourne sequel?

As buzz around the next installment of the Bourne series heightens with the upcoming release of The Bourne Legacy, producer Frank Marshall says he’d like to see Jeremy Renner and Matt Damon team up in the next sequel. Damon appeared in the first three installments of the Bourne series playing the infamous Jason Bourne — however, to the fans’ dismay, his character does not appear in the upcoming Bourne sequel. In a recent interview with Empire magazine, Marshall said: “All possibilities are open. My dream is that in the next one we see Matt and Jeremy team up.” He’s definitely not the only one that would like to see the action stars work together. He later discussed the difference between Damon and Renner’s characters, saying, “[Renner’s character is] coming from a completely different background to Jason. He knows exactly who he is; he signed up to this. He wants to be part of a team.” The Bourne Legacy comes to theaters August 10 and also stars Edward Norton, Rachel Weisz and Albert Finney. ~Stacy Raivich

Didn’t Damon say he didn’t want to return? Even if he did, if this one turns out to be big he’ll be back for the next.

Matt Damon said he won’t come back to do Bourne without Greengrass as director. I don’t get why he refused the role just cuz a change of director. When this movie turns out successful, he better stop being a pussy and just do Bourne again.
Hopefully, Damon and Renner will work together. That would be AWESOME!!
Can’t wait to see this for my birthday!! i don’t even plan on seeing Total “Remake”.

I have a wait and see attitude but I really like Renner. I loved the first three Bourne so the idea of having them both in the same movie is really appealing but it’s far from done. I think this one will be good nonetheless. As long as they don’t use another actor to play Bourne and use a different character instead, it should be good.

I really liked the Bourne movies. If they make another Bourne movie with Bourne in it I will line up to see it. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me to make a Bourne movie without Damon in it. I won’t be going to see this new Bourne movie.

This is probably the best news I’ve heard in years! Awesome!! I’ll tell you the truth Bourne 3 directing SUCKED and so did the shake shake camera work. Gave me a head ache! So if Matt wants to wait around for that then lol he’s missing out! I hope he sees that this movie was done well (I hope it’s done well) and so the success of this movie will call for Matt. We need to go out and support it. As for total recall wow I’m pissed on so many levels. Arnold is still around just like Mel Gibson is so why the “Mad Max” change and all though I love Collin he could of somehow “worked out a little” hahah I mean let’s face it anyone taking over Arnold’s rolls better have a good body period. But let me tell you I was still going to watch this movie but now that I heard no MARS???!! I SAY WTF???!!! The only way to save this already bombing movie is to have them trying to get to MARS the whole movie and have arnold do a cameo as old Quade on Mars in the end saying they should come see him on Mars make a second one and DO IT ALL ON MARS WITH ARNOLD! I’ll be seeing Bourne for sure though 🙂

Actually Damon didn’t say he didn’t want to be in the next one. He actually mentioned he’d love to do a Bourne movie with Bourne married with kids in his fourties still kicking ass. 🙂

Cannot wait to see this movie, though I’m still sceptical that this guy is better than Bourne.

Jeremy Renner is Agent Cross and not playing Bourne in this movie, so pleeease, don’t asked where Matt is cos his loyalty is with his friend Director Greengrass. You don’t like the movie and Renner, then don’t watch it. Btw, I enjoyed watching this time-quell of Bourne from start to finish. The motorbike chase in the busy street of manila, awesome! Great job Mr. Renner, hopefully to see you and Damon kicking ass in the fifth sequel.
