Matt Damon may star in Lance Armstrong biopic

Matt Damon is in talks to play the now-disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong in a Hollywood movie. Armstrong is known for winning the Tour de France seven times, from 1999 to 2005. He was recently disqualified and banned from racing when it became clear he had been taking drugs to enhance his performance. Cyclist Taylor Hamilton’s book, “The Secret Race,” opens up the truth about drug use surrounding professional cyclists such as Armstrong, and is set to pitch in for the film. “Most sports films end in an inspirational victory. It’s hard to work out what the ending would be. Lance was a hero before this scandal. The current ending is too depressing. It would be a more appealing story with a more hopeful final act,” a source said. ~ Luxy Hariharan
