Matt Damon wants to do comedy

matt_damonMatt Damon played assassin Jason Bourne in the Bourne franchise and now stars as Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller in Green Zone, but says he would like to test his comedic timing, although he’s not sure how good he’d be. “Yeah, I’d love to end up in a movie like The Hangover, but I think it’s just really hard to make a good comedy,” he said. “To sustain a whole movie? That’s really, really tough to do… there are good comedies made every year, but they definitely have not come my way.” The 39-year-old actor dismisses his title as one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, insisting he’s way behind other actors in the popularity stakes. “I’m sure they have very accurate metrics on how to compensate people for what they’re actually worth in Hollywood, and I’m not the big paycheck guy, so clearly they know what the reality is,” he said in an interview with British newspaper The Times. Matt even believes he wasn’t the first choice for some of the movies he has starred in, claiming Brad Pitt was offered them first. “No, I think they go to Brad,” he explained, “which is OK.”

It may be true that Matt Damon is not as popular as some actors in Hollywood… but I must say I would MUCH rather watch a movie with him as opposed to Brad Pitt… who I think is somewhat overrated.

I agree Dave, I like Brad, and he’s a good actor, but not great, Matt is a great actor. It would be interesting to see how he would do in a comedy.

What is Matt talking about, he was in the movie “Dogma and Jay and Silent Bob Strike back”. He was frickin hilarious in those two movies. I would love to see another Bourne movie as much as i would love to see him in more comedies. Go for it Matt, you have what it takes.
