Matthew McConaughey says “no” to nanny

Camila and Matthew McConaugheyJust when it seems like every parent in Hollywood is hiring a nanny, Matthew McConaughey (yet again) is singing to another tune. The proud new daddy is reportedly refusing to hire a nanny to help his girlfriend Camila with their one-month-old son, Levi. McConaughey, who makes a cameo in Tropic Thunder, is determined to raise Levi without any outside help. A source close to the couple explains: “If Matt could breast feed the baby himself, he would. The house is getting messier and neither Matt or Camila are getting much sleep. Camila wants to hire someone but Matthew strongly objects—he thinks at least for the first few months he and Camila should be the only ones caring for Levi.” Hopefully he doesn’t change his mind during those ‘terrible two’ years.

Boy he may be setting a new trend in Hollywood, much as Angelina did for adopting underprivileged children.

Well, he could at least have a maid come in to clean. Personally, with two of them there to do the job, I don’t see what the problem is. If the baby is healthy, at 1 month old all he does is eat, sleep, poop…wait until he is mobile! There are people who raise children alone, sometimes more than one child, and still get sleep and have a clean home…I know, because I am one of those people. I do however, think that Matthew is doing the right thing by not paying someone else to raise his child.

they’ll actually be like REAL parents, REAL people, who don’t have the money to spend on hiring another person to clean or be the pretend mommy.

way to go for being like everyone else for real.

A messy house? Big deal. So, he wants to have a go at them being the only ones raising their baby, no nanny. A very personal decision and great to see real parenting here, aa per comment above. Obviously, they can change thier minds at any time re outside hired help, but it’s great to see a celebrity at least attempt and show a desire to spend as much time with their kids as possible rather than opting for Dial-A-Nanny to bail them out. I hope it works for them.
