Megamind takes over the box office

The animated feature Megamind was the box office champ this past weekend, taking in an estimated $47.7 million in its debut and earning 4 out of 5 stars from Tribute.ca viewers. Another new movie, the comedy Due Date starring Robert Downey Jr., debuted in second place with $33.5 million and 3.7 stars. For Colored Girls, directed by Tyler Perry, earned the highest Tribute Rating this week with 4.7 stars and third place at the box office, earning $20.1 million. The crime thriller RED dropped one spot to fourth, taking in $15 million in its fourth weekend and a Tribute Viewer Rating of 4.3 stars. Saw 3D plummeted from its first place finish last weekend to fifth place, earning an additional 8.2 million. Tribute viewers rated it 4 out of 5 stars. Canadian box office results will be posted this afternoon.
