Megan Fox trashes Wonder Woman

By Tribute on November 11, 2010 | 38 Comments

Megan Fox is in hot water again for speaking her mind. This time it’s for trashing Wonder Woman, the DC Comics heroine made famous by Lynda Carter in the ’70s.

When Fox was asked by a newspaper if she would consider to playing the superwoman in a movie remake, Fox responded: “Wonder Woman is a lame superhero. She flies around in her invisible jet and her weaponry is a lasso that makes you tell the truth. I just don’t get it. Somebody has a big challenge on their hands whoever takes that role but I don’t want to do it.” Lynda Carter says Megan Fox should not have “trashed” her former character.

This kid needs to stop talking. Just shut up and look pretty.

  2. demigod • November 11, 2010 @ 6:57 PM

Totally agree with her. Wonderwoman is laame. She also stops bullets with her bracelets lol. Didn’t Beyonce express interest to play that cheesy role? It’s right up her alley.

  3. chronium • November 11, 2010 @ 7:21 PM

This isn’t the first time she trashes Wonder Woman. She said pretty much the same thing a year or two ago.

  4. sarah m • November 11, 2010 @ 8:18 PM

stop talking you Fox. Don’t show your meat brain to the world.

  5. Red • November 11, 2010 @ 8:26 PM

Who is she again? Isn’t she known for her pretty face? What makes her any better than a “lame” superhero? She’s a “lame” actress.

  6. NATHALIE • November 11, 2010 @ 8:51 PM

her booby jobs looked ugly in one of her paparazzi pictures!

  7. Nobody Important • November 12, 2010 @ 2:11 AM

Megan Fox was actually right. Lynda Carter’s version of Wonder Woman was great in the 70s, but it wouldn’t translate well 40 years later.

Imagine Daniel Craig fighting modern-day bad guys with Sean Connery’s outdated gizmos, the 6million dollar man minus adjustments for inflation, or Adam West’s Batman underpinning the Dark Knight.

  8. hmmm • November 12, 2010 @ 9:31 AM

    most of her movies suck!

  9. Jay • November 12, 2010 @ 12:29 PM

    Megan is amazing
She speaks her mind and people get pissed at her . Probably because most of the world are sheep and can’t think for themselves they need tabloids to tell them whats right and wrong .
Megan is right superheroes are lame if you are over 6 years old , and she has admitted that she is just eye candy and makes bad movies , how many other so called actresses would say that .

Her and Rachel McAdams are 2 of the only women in hollywood with any integrity and intelligence. Its not their fault 99% of movies are almost unwatchable , its their off screen actions that make me a fan .

  10. Joshua • November 12, 2010 @ 1:14 PM

Here’s a better answer for next time Megan, “I would love the opportunity to play any strong female role. Of course I would need to read the script first and see who is onboard because there are some ‘not-so-good’ superhero scripts but also some fantastic ones. So yes, I would definitely depending on the circumstances.”

  11. Me • November 12, 2010 @ 4:08 PM

Megan what does she know about anything?
The only reason she is around is for her looks, not because she has any brains, so shut dummy!

  12. Cheryl • November 12, 2010 @ 4:11 PM

I’m no big fan of Ms. Fox, but I think she’s right. And for pete’s sake, she isn’t talking about a real person, it’s a comic book character. Big deal.

  13. peanut butter • November 12, 2010 @ 4:59 PM

How many of you who are putting her down, and calling her names actually know her? Regurdles of whether or not you agree with her assertion, it is her opinion and she should be entitled to it. She was asked a question, gave an answer and an explaination as to why that’s her answer. She may be in movies because of her looks, and her star may quickly fade, but at least when her celeberty status diminshes, she can say she did the jobs she wanted to. How many of us can say that?

  14. Rita • November 12, 2010 @ 5:55 PM

I agree with peanut butter, jay and Cheryl. I think Wonder Women is Not lame at all! You could make a movie about her and just give her modern day weapons. They’ve modernized Batman/Robin till I won’t go see it anymore; to absolute Ridiculusness!! When I saw one Superman movie when he got drunk, I was so offended! Superman movies started out with creative ideas and there never was any indication that he would drink. That’s not what he’s about.

If at least the Super Hero’s would have been made into movies all along every 5 or 10 yr.’s for example, then kept up to date appropriately(without it being ridiculous) then I think that Megan or anyone else may want the role. Who knows till you ask them. Why make these movies, and never make them again and people miss them!! At least I know I do! And please if there is going to be one made, Please Don’t make her drink. She didn’t drink in the past so why would the script writer(s) think it’s ok to get her to drink now(that is if they R thinking of adding this). Back in the past the script writers were really creative but nowadays they even more so. So if there’s a remake, I Hope there Won’t be any cheesy parts in it. Come on guys, you can Be a lot more Creative, then getting her to drink! Producers Could hire someone that will deliver Good Creative ideas. Look at the Hangover, that was very creative. People are complaining that most movies are the same rehash of earlier movies and I agree! BORING.

I agree that everyone IS entitled to his/her opinion. If Ms Fox doesn’t like superhero movies in general and Wonder Woman in particular… fine.
I would hope that the actress who gets the role will be good enough to accept the challenge of playing such a strong character that doesn’t use fancy gimmicks. The movie would need someone who could convincingly be smart and strong enough to lead the Amazons. The character has held her own in a male dominated (and super powered) world and the person playing her would definitely have to put a lot of effort into not having the character seem just a silly girl with a magic lasso. Frankly, Ms Fox wouldn’t cut it.

  18. Rita • November 12, 2010 @ 6:29 PM

I Agree with Mr. Stadelbauer completely especially about not using fancy gimmicks. A few may be ok to use, to fit into this modern world.

  19. ke • November 12, 2010 @ 10:10 PM

People putting her down because she admitted she doesn’t like Wonder Woman is simply pathetic. I bet none of you even care THAT much about Wonder Woman as you do about Fox being straight up. I don’t like her all that much either, I thin she’s an eh actress and as a person I do think she tries to be ‘provocative’ but for crying out loud she was only expressing an opinion. Haven’t you ever disliked anything and said something about it to someone? That sentence sounded stupid and irrelevant because it is and that’s what you’re putting her down for…people need to chill. You’re really gonna waste your time hating on someone for thinking Wonder Woman is lame? Geeze.

  20. Amy • November 12, 2010 @ 10:25 PM

Fox would make an awesome Wonder Woman in my opinion.

  21. Booty Quake • November 12, 2010 @ 11:00 PM

While I admit Fox has the perfect look for playing Wonder Woman, I agree she shouldn’t take the role because Wonder Woman is a pathetic super hero. A Wonder Woman movie would be even lamer than Cat Woman.

  22. C-Dub • November 13, 2010 @ 1:02 PM

I think the way superhero movies are being made lately (like the obvious Batman re-boot, and Ironman and Spidy movies), they can make WonderWoman work. If anything the 2006 Superman movie should have been revamped and threw WonderWoman in there instead and I bet it would have worked better. Think about it. Wonderwoman disappears and comes back and saves the city and all the other lovey dovey gushy stuff should have been for a WonderWoman character, not for Superman reboot.

As for Fox, yes extremely gorgeous and would likely fit the roll just fine, but if she doesn’t want to do it, and the movie works, well she will regret it for the rest of her career. Most actors have that one or two bad choices and it comes back to bite them. What we hardly hear about are the movies the actors turned down and good thing they did and then they went for another movie which may have revived their career by choosing the better option.

Either way, she’s made her comment and when/if this movie gets a green light we will see what happens. Maybe it’s time to get a new star? Beyonce was mentioned and that would be good I think. And she already has a massive fan base which would likely follow her from their ipods to the theatres. She did a good job in her last movie and we don’t see much in the way of an African-American superhero (Blade), so why not make it WonderWoman and totally redo the concept. I like that idea.

  23. Susan • November 13, 2010 @ 5:08 PM

    She just doesn’t get it???
But she did “get” the lame, moronic movies she chose to be a part of like Transformers, Jennifer’s Body and Jonah Hex…

What I don’t “get” is who would offer a beautiful, strong, feminist role (multidimensional)and the most popular and iconic female superhero to a fairly attractive Megan Fox (singledimensional)?

She mocks the character because she is too immature to understand that there are more mutilayers that will be brought about by a great scriptwriter and director to reflect a modern woman’s ideals of love, peace, sexual equality to a world torn by hate, crime and repression.
Yep, she’s not up for the challenge, she’s too hung up on the little things like the lasso which was an extention to the characters real life inventor Dr.William Moulton Marston’s creation— the polygraph.

As I was just a young teen when Linda Carter portrayed ‘Wonder Women’ on T.V., and was an avid “fan”and “watcher” of the show, I feel that it was wrong of Megan Fox to “dis” on Carter, and the whole ‘Wonder Woman’ superhero. I thought that Fox was a little bit too much outspoken. However, she has a right to her opinion, and right to “turn down”the movie role. Just hope for her sake, that she doesn’t regret it(ie.-another actress doing it, and getting “rave reveiws”) It just might end up coming back to her, and “Biting her in the ass”!! It will be interesting to see just whom gets the part.

  25. NYTOC • November 14, 2010 @ 5:32 AM

Megan Fox is absolutely right, yes she gets paid to act parts that are revealing, but her as an individual is different story off screen. Why does a woman have to use a whip of some sort to get people into telling the truth? It sounds like a sex object or something, imagine if they did have Wonder Woman in a scene beating a man up while he’s tied to a chair and not the reverse if a woman was in the chair; so she’ll tie the guy up with her rope and force him to speak the truth? Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, Spiderman, Flash, The Hulk..Rogue(from X-men), Storm(from X-men), Jean Grey(from X-men) DO NOT use some sort of mental force or coercive action to get people to speak up the truth. Megan Fox might be labelled by society as a “sex-object” because that’s what we’ve been told to believe by men & women what “sexy” is, but it doesn’t mean that because she is speaking for what she believes that people should tell her to keep her thoughts to herself, she WAS ASKED in the first place; and she shouldn’t have to “SHUT UP” and look sexy. Women aren’t paid to look sexy, if it weren’t for women, men wouldn’t have anything “TO DO”(if you get my drift).

  26. NYTOC • November 14, 2010 @ 5:37 AM

I myself use to watch Wonder Woman when I was kid, it was an interesting show, but “sex” didn’t seem to have much of an impact as it does today if a woman speaks negatively about how women “should” be seen in the world. Megan Fox might think she’s pretty and people may associate her with beauty, but the moment she starts speaking like a “woman” who has dignity in herself and respects who she is, people want her to take a back seat and let the world dictate what women should say in public or what’s on their minds based on what society tells women to think of themselves. Hmm, wow..

The way Megan trashes a fictional character is too funny and making it sound like a way to stand up for woman’s rights to make herself a perfect role model is even more funny.Wonder Woman was created in a time the world was sexist and stupid. Woman of today with the exception of Fox,Spears, Hilton, and Lohan has brought woman out of the stone age. Margaret Thatcher, Sandra Day O’Connor,Linda Carter and Sandra Bullock plus others are the true role models for the ladies of today. We know this is the way of a spoiled brat wanting daddy’s attention and the part in the Wonder Woman movie is going and to try to keep herself in the spotlight. We all fell for her little game by leaving our comments on all these websites is just keeping her in the spotlight. If you ignore it, it will go away eventually. Jonah Hex was a good movie and it wasn’t her that made it a good movie and people went to see Transformers to see the robot characters. Jennifer’s body was a cheezie movie and puts Attach of the Killer Tomatoes up one. I have no respect for her, and for her to play Wonder Woman now will just give her more attention and will make her a hypocrite. If any of you have seen the animated movie or even the Justice league TV series you will see Wonder Woman has a stronger personality and she uses more of her fists than her lasso and she doesn’t need the plane to fly even some though some scenes shows her flying the plane. This is all way too funny.

I totally agree with “nobody important”, things have changed since the 70’s and I’m sure if Wonder Woman is given a movie, there will be a lot more to it than there was with the series. Although Megan had a point and has a right to an opinion, she shouldn’t publicly dismiss things the way she does, it could hurt her career. You know the saying “beggers can’t be choosers”, well I don’t see her working on any block busters right now, so she should just be careful – she might be a begger someday real soon and would wish she had said yes to WW.

  32. Cameron • November 21, 2010 @ 3:57 PM

I do not think Ms. Fox would be suitable. First of all, Wonder Woman is a 6 ft Amazon Princess. Ms. Fox is short. Second, WW is voluptuous, Ms. Fox is a skin and bones. Thirdly, because it is a challenging role, it would require a highly talented actress. Ms. Fox has no acting abilities whatsover. She only gets films because of her looks. She is no Angelina Jolie (beauty with brains and talent). She is nothing but at best a B actress (suited for lo budget or soap opera)

She should NEVER be any female superhero! EVER.

Wonder Woman has done so much for many young females in helping them realize that you can be beautiful and feminine, while being powerful, bold and fierce at the same time. In a world where women are often stereotyped and portrayed as stupid airheads in media, useful for nothing but their bodies (almost all of Fox’s roles) – WW is a character that stands as an equal with all the “big boys” of the Justice League and represents women as passionate and heroic.
Megan Fox is just obviously intimidated by a character like that.
I’m unbelievably glad that she’ll never play her to tell you the truth!

For me, I thought Megon Fox would look right for the part. It’s to bad that she couldn’t see past the way WW’s powers looked back then. They did the best w/what they had in the 70’s. To a little girl back then, I looked up to WW. Through the years Lina Carter has always been a hero to me. I agree w/many of the coments on here. I’ve been waiting for a WW action movie. Megon doesn’t realise what she passed up.

If you watched Wonder Woman (2017), then you’ll understand why Gal Gadot was perfectly casted. I couldn’t imagine Megan Fox playing Wonder Woman now. That movie would have been a flop.
