Mel Gibson loses his cool again

By Alexandra Heilbron on February 3, 2010 | 37 Comments

Mel Gibson obviously feels touchy when people bring up his 2006 DUI arrest when he went on an anti-Semitic rant and allegedly asked a female police officer, “What are you looking at, Sugar tits?” Showing that he hasn’t changed a bit, when asked by an elderly reporter in a polite tone if he thought the public might view him differently now (during a satellite feed), Gibson pulled a “Billy Bob Thornton” (i.e., was exceptionally rude for no reason) and asked the reporter to elaborate. When the reporter clarified, Mel retorted, “That’s almost four years ago, dude. I’ve moved on. I guess you haven’t.” The reporter then said, “Well, I was wondering if you think the public has moved on.” Mel retorts, “I’ve done all the necessary ‘mea culpas.’ Let’s move on dude, come on.” The reporter changes the subject, promotes Mel’s new movie Edge of Darkness and thanks Mel for joining him. Mel takes a big swig of his coffee, says “Bye-bye,” looks down at the ground and then a few seconds later, when he thinks the feed has been cut off, mutters “Asshole.”

LOL that was fantastic. I would say we moved one since the DUI incident (because I totally forgot about it until they brought it up).

The guy is an A-hole since he had to bring it up during an interview about Mel’s newest success and the fact that its the first movie he starred in since 2002.

I’m with Mel…. get over it. Move on.

  2. gypsy • February 3, 2010 @ 1:15 PM

    ugh..I totally agree!!!

lllllllooooooooooollllllllllllll. Mel is so funny, i so agree with him, seriously get over it dude. whats the guys problem???!!!!! lol

  4. Joshua • February 3, 2010 @ 3:34 PM

In my opinion Mel needs to cool his jets. You cant blame the guy for bringing it up(I’m sure it will come up again). He could have even used that small amount of time to be a role model and admit if you got a problem it dosnt make you a bad person but a human that needs to change blah blah blah so on and so forth. He just got offended and that’s not the guys fault its Mel Gibson’s fault. And don’t get me wrong I love Mel, one of my fav. Actors to be exact but Mel has to be humble here and not so pissy. Like I said its probably going to come up alot i imagine and getting so irritated just says to me that hes hasn’t learned from his mistakes.

    mel gibson 🙂

  6. Nancy • February 3, 2010 @ 4:37 PM

I also agree, ugh. Don’t forget, Mel just recently quit smoking so, yeah, he’s going to be a little short on patience, especially when it comes to this.

I haven’t forgotten about Mel badmouthing Jews and women and then getting some tart knocked up while he was still married with minor children. It totally turned me off him and I have no desire to see him on the screen again. This interview only shows me he’s still the same rude jerk he always was and doesn’t feel any remorse for anything he’s ever done. The only Catholic thing about Mel is that he breeds like a rabbit.

  8. demigod • February 3, 2010 @ 5:39 PM

Angela, what part of ‘mea culpa’ did you not understand? Do you expect him to be apologetic in every interview? That interviewer deserved the remark.

  9. whatever • February 3, 2010 @ 5:55 PM

    hahahhahahahaha!!!!

  10. alexandr azar • February 3, 2010 @ 6:03 PM

MEL is 200% right about the DUDE ….

why bring such a silly too old stories when Mel is getting yet another successful story,

Don’t worry Mel; the DUDE is dying of envy he is practically unkonw while your face is recognized world wide with the many successful movies , who care there will always be pathetic dude like him.

  11. Angela • February 3, 2010 @ 6:04 PM

He was completely flippant, not remorseful at all. And he was really, really rude and I hate it that interviewers just keep being polite to these a-holes like gibson and bb thornton while these so-called “celebrities” show how they think they can be rude to interviewers just because they’re STARS. They have no idea that they’re just people and rude is rude, whether you’re an actor or not.

  12. Dan • February 3, 2010 @ 7:49 PM

No one can dare say anything bad about Mel, he knows what women want.

  13. whatever • February 3, 2010 @ 8:42 PM

hahahahhahahahahahahhahahaahahx2 cos i just watched it again.

    go mel gibson!

  14. demigod • February 3, 2010 @ 9:20 PM

The interviewer just wanted to rehash the past, because his personal life/controversy is of more interest to the public than his work. He was looking for a juicier interview, but he did get a little of what he wanted- attitude. He’ll probably get a raise.
Mel was nothing like bb Thornton on this one.

  15. SomeBody • February 4, 2010 @ 1:06 AM

you really think the interviewer was polite? the way i see it, he was trying really hard to offend Gibson lol. the only thing that was polite was his tone i guess.

    anyway that was hilarious

  16. dude • February 4, 2010 @ 1:58 AM

lol, did Mel’s fansite get word of this? Guy is a jerk, a talented jerk, but a jerk nonetheless. So let me get this right, if you do something horrible 4 yrs ago, if its brought up again its an injustice….lol good thing the Nuremberg trials happened rt away. Maybe we should let Osama go for 9/11. it was 9 yrs ago jeez. lol anyone defending Mel is a tard.

  17. Travis • February 4, 2010 @ 2:08 AM

Angela you claim that Mel was being rude and not remorseful at all and that interviewers are people too? Let me ask you this how many of your friends would you go up to and say “Sooooo how’s that drinking problem of yours? Think everyone else has forgiven you for being a drunk and getting behind the wheel?” You wouldn’t say that to anybody. Mel Gibson is just human as well. He also did claim that it was four years ago and he took all the proper steps to fixing those problems. Which to me shows he acknowledges that he has problems and is trying to rectify them.

  18. Thibz • February 4, 2010 @ 4:25 AM

lol how is that losing his cool…

  19. Angela • February 4, 2010 @ 10:15 AM

Travis, they are not friends. The interviewer has a job to do. So does Mel. I was also wondering if people have forgotten his bad “past” behaviour enough to want to see him in a movie. It was a valid question from an interviewer doing his job. Mel behaved like a spoiled brat, getting petulant, then condescending and finally, downright rude.

  20. demigod • February 4, 2010 @ 12:40 PM

Angela,no I’ll never forget about ANY celebs ‘past’ because people like you and that interviewer won’t let it go. No one is telling you to like him.
The interviewer was trolling. Mel wants to put it all behind him, but the media often likes to drudge up the past/controversy for obvious reasons. I’d be irritated too.

  21. demigod • February 4, 2010 @ 2:03 PM

Yea, never heard of catholics breeding like rabbits..thought those were mormons 🙂 Anyone else in Hollywood been married 35 yrs? Rumours of infidelity were baseless, as they would have come out of the woodwork by now, such as in Tiger’s case.

  22. Carol • February 4, 2010 @ 6:47 PM

If he’s going to be interviewed then anything is game. If he didn’t want certain issues brought up he should have made is a condition of his interview as other famous people do. So what if he was asked the question. And what good is an interview if there is no “meat” to it…pretty boring I’d say. Mel answered him…I don’t see what the fuss was on either end, who cares…Mel is pretty close to being washed up.

  23. demigod • February 5, 2010 @ 2:01 AM

Hardly washed up. He was on a much needed hiatus. I see another Clint Eastwood.

  24. gypsy • February 6, 2010 @ 6:46 PM

Washed-up MEL,NEVER,ONE OF A VERY FEW GOOD ACTORS STILL AROUND!!!In my opinion!

  25. Nancy • February 6, 2010 @ 8:14 PM

    Certainly no Clint Eastwood.

  26. demigod • February 7, 2010 @ 1:21 AM

Like you’re a fan of westerns. He has many years to go.

  27. Nancy • February 7, 2010 @ 8:08 PM

Demigod: No, actually, I’m not a fan of westerns but my dad is and I’ve sure seen enough of them when I lived at home.

  28. demigod • February 7, 2010 @ 10:12 PM

And you’re not a fan of Dirty Harry either, so why doesn’t Mel add up? Because he didn’t cheat as much? Have countless children with countless women? lol

  29. Nancy • February 7, 2010 @ 10:45 PM

Hahaha, actually, it has nothing to do with women, children and cheating. There can and will be only 1 Clint. I didn’t say anything bad here about Mel. Not like I said he’s a lousy actor or anything, I just said he’s no Clint Eastwood…and he’s not…never will be…no matter how many years, LOL.

  30. demigod • February 7, 2010 @ 11:25 PM

‘There can and will be only one Clint’? Says who? Yo daddy? Such praise for someone you don’t give a damn about.

  31. Nancy • February 8, 2010 @ 10:08 AM

Says me…after all I gave MY OPINION, didn’t I? Who says I “don’t give a damn about” Clint? Because I’m not a huge fan of westerns? He doesn’t only act in westerns. He doesn’t only act. You have your opinion, I have mine. I didn’t try to put you down for yours, did I?

  32. Nancy • February 8, 2010 @ 4:48 PM

Now, what is so “wrong” with my opinion? Why does it p!ss you off so much that MY OPINION differs from yours? Why do you have to be so rude and ignorant because I voiced a differing opinion from yours? What’s the problem? You think he’s great and is the next Clint Eastwood…I don’t, big freaking deal! LOL. Why cause a scene over it? Just makes you look even more childish than we already know you are, hahaha.

  33. demigod • February 8, 2010 @ 11:41 PM

Listen to what everyone else is saying about you, cyber-child.

  34. Nancy • February 9, 2010 @ 10:32 AM

    “everyone else”? Hahaha.

Scroll up and read both of our comments and then give an answer to the questions I asked you. I mean, you have your opinion, I have mine, then because mine doesn’t match yours, you start with the “Says who? Yo daddy? Such praise for someone you don’t give a damn about.” Did I get rude with you? No. It was YOU that didn’t like it.

  35. demigod • February 10, 2010 @ 1:47 AM

Not interested in answering any of your ditzy questions. Go bark up another tree.

  36. Nancy • February 10, 2010 @ 11:05 AM

EXACTLY! Because you’re just an INSTIGATOR looking for trouble…as usual! Like Margaret said, “It’s sad”.

  37. Nancy • February 10, 2010 @ 11:06 AM

Oh, and nice to see you’re back to your usual name calling self. Every time you get put in your place, you start with the names, right “ditz”?
