Melanie Amaro wins X Factor

Melanie Amaro was crowned the first winner of the American version of X Factor last night. Coached and chosen to be in the competition by Simon Cowell, the 19-year-old beat runner-up Josh Krajcik, 30, winning a $5 million contract with Simon’s record label and an appearance in a Pepsi commercial. It was ironic that Amara won, because she was initially sent home from the competition by Cowell following the Judges’ Houses stage. He then had a change of mind and went personally to her home to invite her back. He said: “I stood there like a lemon for 30 seconds while she stared at me, and then quietly said, ‘Yes, I’ll do it.’ Now I’m seeing her behind me, she’s got the confidence.” Melanie, who burst into tears and was unable to speak after hearing that she’d won, finally collected herself enough to say: “I want to say America, thank you for giving this girl an opportunity.” Vote in our poll….

from the get go i was in it for the krajik magic, but i gota say Melanie is a well deserving soul and a beautiful singer. i realized josh was in trouble after the finals before the results show. that being said they’re all STARSwith amazing careers ahead of them. thats what happens when you reach for your dreams.

I dont watch the X factor. All i know about it is all the scandels, like Nicole and Paula getting death threats, that little Rcahel girl crying her eyes out after elimination, and how Steve “Pinkie Ring” green might get fired. Team X Factor UK!

I liked Josh’s voice better, but Melanie did a better job all around, especially in the final. She was fortunate to have Simon as her mentor – if Josh had had him, he would have probably gotten better songs to sing, some of his choices weren’t great. I think he’ll have an amazing career anyway, despite coming in second. I would download his tunes.

who are these people? I don’t care and it sounds like it wa all a set up. Simon chose this girl. Coached her. And sent her home, then she was brought back to win and sign with HIS record label. hmmmm Lots of coincidences.
