Melanie Griffith enters rehab facility

Melanie Griffith, 52, has checked into the Cirque Lodge, a rehab facility in Utah. This is the third rehab stint for the actress, who is married to Antonio Banderas. She previously sought treatment in 2000 for an addiction to painkillers and in 1988, sought help for her addiction to alcohol and cocaine. “She is there to reinforce her commitment to stay healthy,” her rep confirmed. “This is part of a routine plan that was designed between her and her doctors years ago.” Griffith once wrote on her website: “Overcoming addictions is tough but it can be made easier if you have someone that can offer support. My husband and family supported me so much through this journey and continue to do so.”

Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard is bizarre and outrageous, but the movie has one thing going for itself: the outstanding performances by the cast who are hilarious.

Either way good for her for realizing she had a problem and dealing with it. And who says it cant be just routine maintenace…ppls get urges and need help to stop them sometimes. Especially when it comes to drugs and alcohol.

I agree that at least she is doing some thing about it, which is more than I can say about Michael Jackson, who had interventions about his drug problems yet ignored them,(that is why Liz Taylor never showed at his funeral as their last visit together was at an intervention that she supposedly initiated, and he refused, so they were on the outs.) BUT, she and her husband are supposed to be madly in love, so I would think she has all the support she would ever need? I guess the drugs are just too much to overcome, and hopefully this time, she will be able to stay sober, as they say, it takes one day at a time, one hour at a time, one minute at a time, so only time will tell!! All I can say id GOOD LUCK and hopefully she caught this in time before she ends up as another statistic in Hollywood!!
Good Luck Melanie! Good for you for realizing that you need help. Once you are an addict, you are an addict for life, you will be fighting urges forever. It is good that she realizes this and keeps things in check. She has a beautiful family and she needs to be around for them and be a good role model! Good luck!

Agreed! I used to think Melanie was kind of pretty, but now, jeez, she’s just done too much to herself, ruined her looks in my opinion.
I blame Antonio for that. I heard back when they first got married that he had “conditions” in a pre-nup kind of thing. One of the conditions was that she could not gain any weight.

Doesn’t Antonio know that weight is more cushion for….well, you know. I agree t.g., she was attractive, just like Priscilla Presley, but this botox, it really does nothing for them. Melanie was pretty, Priscilla was beautiful, and it’s not that they aged, they are trying to prevent that, but now they just look distorted. It is amazing how these hollywood stars who are normally fashion statements can’t see how bad they look. And the lips, when anyone does their lips with the collegin (don’t know how to spell that one), it looks terrible. If you want Julia Roberts lips, you can’t inject them, you have to be born with them.

Even if that is true, it’s a small price to pay considering what he’s bringing to the table. She’s washed up and hasn’t done anything in ages. She can at least look the part.
I think putting that you can’t gain weight in a pre-nup is HORRIBLE!! I wonder if this is only a Hollywood thing as a lot of people gain weight not on purpose, but for different sicknesses, so that is pretty shallow of him!!

I think having such a thing in a pre-nup is disgusting. So that means if she gains weight, he’s outta there? Well, he did say something like “what’s love?” when asked if he really loved her, early in their relationship, kinda like Prince Charles, so I don’t think he really loves her anyway, she’s just a trophy wife, in his opinion. She did speak of them loving each other so much, but he said nothing about them loving each other.
I just think that “fat” part of the clause is DIGUSTING, as it’s always OKAY if a guy gains a bit of weight, but when a woman does, HOLY CRAP, she’s the bad one!! Also, when she goes through menopause, I’ve heard that you can gain wqeight, and I’m sure she’s close to that age, plus as I said earlier, any kind of sickness, including breaking your back, like I did, can stop you from being active, hence the weight can escalate unless you become almost anorexic……there are tons of reasons why anyone can gain weight WITHOUT IT BEING INTENTIONAL!!
April What you said is totally true, she is at the age when menopause usually starts,late 40’s early 50’s. Why I say “usually” is because health problem’s are a contributing factor, that could make it start even earlier.Men just don’t understand anything about a woman’s body,nor do they want to, (in most case’s).This is truly a man’s world,they can gain weight,go where they want,cheat on their wife’s,and end up blaming them for their behaviour.Melanie is so pencil thin she could of had a drug relapse to loose the extra pounds,and that may be the reason she is back in rehab. T.G AND Nancy I also agree with your comment’s.Melanie is a human being not just eye candy for her husband’s arm,she also was in alot of movies and brought money into their marriage.As Nancy stated they both own a company together,which proves she invested her money wisely!! He was also aware of her age when he married her,if it bothers him now to dam bad,he should have though of that sooner,like before he said the vow’s and I do!! Some men are just hopeless creature’s and they tend to forget that old saying “behind every successful man stands a very strong woman”.That says’s it all!!!!

Why does my life concern you so much? I’ve made it very clear to you that I am not interested, “hehe”. But FYI, I have been the one who has ended all of my relationships. Totally agree about the “too confining” remark though…I love my freedom. Like doing what I want, when I want…guess I was supposed to be born a male, LMAO!! That is a big reason why I choose the single life. After my kids are grown and have moved on with their own lives, careers and started families of their own, I’M FREE!! YA-HOO!! Don’t get me wrong, I love them more than life itself and will always be there for them but, it will be soooooooo nice to just relax in a hot bath for as long as I like; read a book or two; have a sandwich for dinner instead of cooking for an hour; grab the car keys and go wherever I want; be able to know what it feels like to hold the tv remote; ahhhh peace and quiet!…you get the picture! I don’t have “man issues”, I have “I love my freedom issues”. I’ve been that way since I was a kid. But I most certainly DON’T believe that “every marriage is based on b-s”. I believe that there is someone out there for everyone and, with a combination of respect/honesty/trust/commitment/communication/hard work and compromising they can conquer anything together. My parents have been married for almost 40 years and still going strong. As for me thinking Melanie’s drug and alcohol problems are Antonio’s fault, nope. She had those problems before they met. Also, I said that “it wouldn’t surprise me”, I didn’t say IT WAS his fault for Melanie getting herself “done up”.
