Melissa McCarthy partners with Sandra Bullock

Move over Mike, Melissa McCarthy has found a new onscreen soulmate. After much talk, Bridesmaids director Paul Feig has finally landed on a project to reunite him with the movie’s breakout star. McCarthy will team up with comedy darling Sandra Bullock in an untitled Rush Hour-esque odd couple cop comedy penned by Parks & Recreation writer Katie Dippold. According to Variety, Bullock will play an uptight FBI agent forced to team up with McCarthy, an unconventional Boston police officer, in order to take down a Russian mobster. Since winning the Best Actress Oscar in 2009, Bullock has starred in 2011’s Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close as well as the George Clooney thriller Gravity, which is expected to be released next year. McCarthy has also found herself considerably busy since her Oscar-nominated turn in Bridesmaids, appearing in the upcoming Judd Apatow comedy, This is 40 as well as Identity Thief, all while starring in the hit CBS sitcom, Mike & Molly. ~Kyle Sharp
