Melissa McCarthy does not look like the light blue-green eyed, plus-sized actress most people know her as in a U.K. poster for The Heat. And critics are burning with anger over the issue. The Oscar nominee, who starred in hits such as Identity Thief and The Hangover Part III, appears to have her face and neck digitally altered in the promotional image, cutting out what some people are claiming is 30 pounds. McCarthy’s eye color has even darkened, making her somewhat unrecognizable. “This is one of the worst Photoshop jobs I have ever seen,” says Ali Gray of the British entertainment blog The Shiznit. “But it’s not just offensively bad craftsmanship — the intention behind it is downright nasty.” McCarthy is predominantly known for her fuller figure (and hilarious acting chops) and has never bashed her own body size and weight. However this isn’t the first time McCarthy was put under the Photoshop knife for a movie poster. Her body was visibly thinned down for a Bridesmaids poster back in 2011. ~Naomi Leanage

Snepts — Huh? Sexy? In what world? She is a fun actress and I enjoy her work and find her funny, but saying she is sexy is a little off base. Why not say Rosie O’Donnell is sexy too as it is practically apples to apples (minus a slight age discrepancy).

Melissa is THE funniest actress out there… hands down – let her be who she is for God’s sake, we don’t all want to watch skinny actresses who SUCK at acting.
