Michael Jackson’s doctor denies paternity

By Alexandra Heilbron on July 9, 2009 | 12 Comments

arnold_kleinMichael Jackson‘s dermatologist, Arnold Klein, denied on Larry King Live last night that he gave Jackson illegal drug prescriptions or that he’s the father of the star’s children. He says when Jackson came to his office the Monday before he died, he was in good spirits and danced in the office. Klein says Jackson was seeing him because, “He had scarring from having a lot of cosmetic surgery.” He explains that Jackson began surgery years earlier because “his father and his brothers supposedly… made fun of his nose all the time. So he was very sensitive to the nose.”

When asked what was the strongest medication he gave Jackson, Klein answered: “On occasion, [I] gave him Demerol to sedate him.” However, Klein was aware that Jackson used Diprivan, an anesthetic given prior to surgery. “I knew at one point that he was using Diprivan when he was on tour in Germany… with an anesthesiologist, to go to sleep at night. And I told him he was absolutely insane. I said you have to understand that this drug, you can’t repeatedly take.” He also discussed Jackson’s vitiligo, explaining it’s an autoimmune disease that results in loss of pigment cells, adding that Jackson also had lupus, an autoimmune disease that often goes hand in hand with vitiligo.

Debbie Rowe, Jackson’s ex-wife and the mother of his children, was Klein’s nurse when the two met. He told King that he believed Jackson and Rowe had a sexual relationship, but when asked if he was the father of Michael’s children, as some have been speculating, he answered: “I will say no, because the most important person to these children is how Michael loved them and how he loved his children and how they loved him,” adding, “to the best of my knowledge, I’m not the father.”  He goes on to say he once donated sperm to a sperm bank, but not to anyone specifically. He concluded with: “These are the brightest children I’ve ever met, the best behaved children I’ve ever met. I don’t want to destroy this relationship in any way, shape or form. I’ll tell you this, no matter what, I will protect these children.”

EWWW! He’s nasty looking! I don’t believe that Michael danced in his office. The guy is a dermatologist…as if Michael goes into his office and starts dancing!

Agreed, Nancy. There’s just something wrong with this guy’s answers. I don’t think he is the father of the children, I believe Michael is, I wonder if they will have to undergo a DNA test? I’m also wondering where this rumor originated.
No matter how shielded these children are from the media, they are not stupid, they will be hearing some of these things, and it’s going to hurt. If this man has no interest in claiming them as his own, then why all this speculation? As far as they know, Michael is their father, he’s gone, this man isn’t (apparently) interested in raising them, so why put them through all this?

And I’m very sure the youngest is Michaels, he looks so much like him!

I never saw the youngest, but I hear Paris’s speech was very touching and it was the first time she ever had her face exposed. Why do they have to even say such things about him not being the father. Legally he is and unless they are in harms way, which is debatable looking at who the caregivers are or could be, it shouldn’t make a difference. If they suspect when they are older that he is not the biological father and they want to search, so be it. That is their right at that time.

Micheal Jackson is gone but his children will live on. When his children get older they can decide for themselves what they want to believe about all the things that are being said now. I feel sorry for them regardless of who their parents are. If Micheal jackson was a good parent he would have been honest with them from the beginning. But who know what he told them. I guess time will tell.

what do you mean honest to them from the beginning? i believe he is the father of the kids and this is just someone trying to get in the spotlight. im not being rude, but i wish they would let go of this michael jackson thing. look at how many pages and tributes etc were dedicated to him, then look at the amount given to other celebs that also die (drug related or not). i dont think its fair that they dont all get the same amount of recognition when they are all famous.

The youngest does look a lot like him and the oldest boy has his big brown eyes. I wouldn’t be surprised if MJ is the biological father, I mean, why would he not be? It wouldn’t make sense for him to have kids with someone and not even have them be his.

What does it matter who are the biological parents ? He was their father.

  9. mandee • July 10, 2009 @ 3:01 PM

exactly, i agree. anyone that stays up with the kids when they are sick, worries about them, looks after them, loves them, is there for them no matter what…THATS what makes you a parent. blood doesnt have to be involved. i wonder if so many people would speculate over other parents that have adopted children? (dont get me wrong, im not saying HE adopted, im just saying it seems like such a silly thing to be bringing up at this point)

GOTTA SAY ALL THREE LOOK LIKE MICHAEL IN MY EYES. THATS MY PERSONAL OPINION.THEIR FACIAL FEATURES REMIND ME OF THEIR AUNTS AND UNCLES WHEN THEY WERE LITTLE,THE OLDEST BOYS FACE REMINDES ME OF JANET WHEN SHE PLAYED A ROLE IN A OLD TV SERIES.NO WAY DO THEY LOOK LIKE THE DR. OR EVEN THE VESSLE THAT SOLD THEM.REMEMBER THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINION.

YOU KNOW WHAT, I HAVE HAD A BELLY FULL OF ALL THIS SPECULATING….MICHAEL HAS GONE, THE PERSON OR PERSONS WHO KILLED HIM (YES! I SAID KILLED HIM) IS WHO WE SHOULD BE CONCENTRATING OUR ENERGY ON, TO FIND THEM AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE PROSECUTED AND PUNISHED FOR THIS HORRIBLE THING THEY HAVE DONE TO THIS WONDERFUL, SUPER TALENTED, KIND, YET VUNERABLE MAN WITH A TROUBLED SOUL, HE HAS DONE SO MUCH TO HELP A LOT OF PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD INDISCRIMINATELY. IF HE SAID ALL THE CHILDREN ARE HIS, INCLUDING OMAR BHATTI.(THERE ARE PROBABLY MORE OF HIS CHILDREN OUT THERE)THAT IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME! WE ALL HAVE OUR OPINIONS, THE TRUTH IS THAT WE MAY NEVER KNOW THE REAL TRUTH ABOUT MICHAELS DEATH.(I BELEIVE THERE ARE CONSPIRACIES AND LOTS OF COVERING UP GOING ON) MICHAEL HAS GONE, AND THERE IS NOTHING IN THIS WORLD THAT CAN CHANGE THAT. HE IS NOT WACKO JACKO OR ANYTHING ELSE, BUT THE KING OF POP MICHAEL JACKSON, AN ICON AND MY IDOL.
