Oprah Winfrey has interviewed Michael Jackson‘s mother, Katherine, his father Joe, and his children for an upcoming episode of her show. Winfrey visited the Jacksons at their home and was also given a tour of the property. She spoke to Prince Michael, 13, Paris, 12, and eight-year-old Blanket. Their uncle Randy is angry because he says Michael wouldn’t have wanted the kids exposed on TV. He wrote on his Twitter page: “I know how Oprah feels about my brother and family. I also know that he would not have wanted this… in fact, she is the last person on earth he would want around his children.” He’s angry at Oprah because during Michael’s 2005 trial, when he was charged with inappropriately touching a teenage boy, Oprah aired an episode about paedophilia. He explains, “I can never forget when she had the show on paedophilia during the jury deliberation process, in my brother’s Santa Maria case. That was no coincidence.” Though Michael was cleared of all charges, Randy has not forgiven the talk show host, adding, “I’m angry… just trying to hold myself together.”

Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris, is quickly making a name for herself in Hollywood, but it seems like some still need to get to know the actress.

Netflix has purchased the rights to distribute an animated film about Michael Jackson’s pet chimpanzee Bubbles. Thor director Taika Waititi will helm the movie.
I’d like to see them being interviewed. I don’t like Oprah and don’t care to see the grandparents, but I might watch if the kids are on.
I agree Maddy – I don’t usually watch the Oprah show, but I might watch this one.
I would probably watch it as well, but I agree with Randy, I don’t think Michael would approve, he always seemed to try to keep his children OUT of the limelight. And I think Oprah would know that, so I’m surprised she would do this. Then again, it’ll bring her a lot of extra cha-ching in her last year, and I bet good old Grandpa will be getting a healthy dose of cha-ching as well, something he always seems to be chasing after.
I also agree with Michael’s brother Randy. I like Oprah, but I kind of feel that it’s disrespctful of Michael’s wishes. However, the kids are now going to a Private School now instead of being home shcooled, so they are getting more exposure anyway. I do feel if it’s anybody doing a public interview, Oprah is a good choice because she has a kind heart and will treat them good on her show.
I would like to watch it, but just their portion. I have not interest in Joe’s interview at all.
@jjones: agreed. I think Oprah would be the most sensitive person to do this interview. I don’t really have an interest in seeing his fathers interview either, I think he’s already said his piece several times.
Randy should be angry with his parents not Oprah. She did her job of educating whatever her personal feelings were. I can never forget when she had the show on paedophilia during the jury deliberation process, in my brothers Santa Maria case. That was no coincidence. Though Michael was cleared of all charges, Randy has not forgiven the talk show host, adding, Im angry just trying to hold myself together.
Maybe Randy should go get some counselling on the feelings of anger and holding himself together.
Final point, the children were not living a “normal” life, they were sheltered, protected and home schooled. If they had been young teens they would have major coping issues, limited insight into the world, lack interaction with teens of their age. Usually home schooled kids come from religious back grounds and their socializing skills come from the church community.
I agree with most of the other comments made already: the fact that Oprah is “sensasationalizing” these kids of Michael’s, which he, if he were still alive, would most likely NOT allow to be interviewed! How much money does ol’ Grandpa and Grandma stand to gain? I think that I would be angry to, if I were one of his brothers. They were always very close to Michael, and I’m sure they would have feelings about what’s best for his kids. I feel that they should be a little bit older,to choose for themselves whether or not they wish to appear on National T.V.,let alone get interviewed on such an “out there” show like Oprah! They shouldn’t be getting “exploited”.
I’ll probably watch but I agree, they shouldn’t be exploited, it would probably be better if they were kept out of the public eye. I don’t know what Michael wanted, apparently it was their mother who asked him to keep them hidden. But they’re getting older and if they could keep out of sight until they’re grown up, maybe they’d be able to have some privacy but now, everyone knows what they look like.
Yes I agree too that sensationalism is not the answer for this delicate situation that involves children that have already experienced a GREAT LOSS of a father that was NO ORDINARY MAN…he was the king of POP and yes I’m sure he would NEVER APPROVE and yes Oprah is no doubt at the TOP of the foodchain and SHE KNOWS SHE’s UNTOUCHABLE and yes THAT’s a LOWBALL on her end…but again it’s TV and ratings and YES she’s NO SWEETHEART…she may be the african american version of MARTHA STEWARD and yes we SAW HER TRUE COLORS TOO…GREED GREED GREED…why else would one of the richest woman on the planet never MARRY??? YUPPPPPPPPP she cannot part from her dynasty…that’s life alright…but yes lets picture her as a SAINT….without the Mother Teresa lifetsyle no doubt…YUP I agreee Micheal would disapprove and it’s a SHAME his family…not all of them…but definitely the FATHER would love ANY GLORY HE COULD GET….he would SALAVATE…no doubt….Micheal was a TRUE STAR…and it’s a shame he’s gone…but his legacy will live forever like Elvis…another great man in our history…AMEN…
I agree with most but not all of the comments left here. However, although I’m quite curious as to how the kids are doing, I’m even more curious to hear Oprah ask the hard questions of Joe Jackson, such as:
1. why did you beat your son so much and tell him he has a big nose?
2. do you take responsibility for the reason why he hated himself so much, thus getting butchered by plastic surgery?
3. why are you so greedy for money?
4. why did you consistently cheat on Mrs. Jackson?
For Mrs. Jackson
1. why did you stand by and allow your husband to abuse Michael?
2. do you feel guilty that Michael never had a childhood?
3. how do you feel since his death?
4. how is janet doing?
5. why didn’t you leave your husband when he was abusing you, Michael or your other children?
and so much more. It should be a ratings bonanza and yes, we know that at the heart of it, that’s all that matters to Ms. Winfrey. Peace out.
Good questions, Velvet, I wonder if Oprah would ask such point blank questions though. And I hope she doesn’t ask Katherine how she feels after Michael’s death; if you’ve ever had anyone close to you die, you’d know she feels awful and probably will for years, if not the rest of her life. She probably still cries everytime she thinks of him. It’s a terrible thing to lose a child. They’re not supposed to die before you.
The new Michael Jackson studio album is coming soon…
The mere FACT that everyone would “probably” (hah!) watch Oprah if PPB were on it, is exactly why the children should not be exploited this way! Michael was naturally the BEST and MOST SANE parent for loving and protecting his 3 biological children; and he was doing a bang-up job of it as has been extremely evident to any and everyone who has come to know them. I am worried about these 3 sweethearts now as I can only imagine what agendas others may have in store for them. If they turn out like so many of the Hollywood celeb brat losers, it won’t be their father’s fault!
From Spain:
I think Oprah will had good rating again thanks to Michael.
I knew Oprah thanks to Michael in 1993,her enterview was in all Tv around the world,…
and I´m sorry but it´s true, I want to watch his children in this enterview, but maybe they must keep them far of journalists.
too much pain for a alone man, please no more pain for his children.
Your love is forever in our heart Michael. TE QUEREMOS.
