Jackson’s mom awarded custody of his children

Michael Jackson and Debbie RoweLos Angeles County Superior Court judge Mitchell Beckloff has issued a ruling granting temporary guardianship of Michael Jackson’s three children to his mother, Katherine Jackson, 79, who filed documents Monday morning seeking guardianship of the three children. She is also petitioning to take over the children’s estate. Her attorneys stated in court papers that if Debbie Rowe, the biological mother of the two eldest children, won custody, it would be “detrimental” because she doesn’t have a relationship with them. However, according to the Los Angeles Times, some legal experts believe that if Rowe is interested, she has a very good chance of getting final custody of the two children — Prince Michael Jr., 12 and Paris Michael Katherine, 11 — she has with Jackson.

It would also be detrimental to the children if Rowe got them because they would then be separated from the youngest child, and sibling relationships are very important, separating them would be very damaging to all three, but especially the youngest.
But I am glad it is only temporary custody, because after all, the woman is 79 years old, it would be very difficult for her to keep up with three energetic children. I was actually kind of hoping Janet or one of Michael’s siblings would get custody.
I hope Joe doesn’t work these kids to the bone like he did with their father.

Yes Tributegirl, I hoped Janet or one of the others would have come forward to adopt them as well. And hopefully Joe doesn’t beat, I mean “whip” them. Notice how all 3 kids have Michael’s name in their name…WEIRD!

Don’t any of MJ’s brothers have children? It might be nice to see the kids going into a family with cousins to play with and an uncle and aunt to love them…

Not sure who else in that family has children, Lily. Never really heard about the others. It’s all such a messed up situation.

I know what you mean, Carol. All around sad.
