David Gordon Green’s long-awaited sequel to Halloween is finally here.
The film is a direct sequel to the original 1978 John Carpenter-directed classic and picks up 40 years later. It ignores the sequels made after the original. So you have to forget that Laurie and Michael are siblings. Imagine that.
Returning to her role as Laurie Strode is Jamie Lee Curtis. The trailer shows how Michael Myers was sent to a psychiatric hospital for four decades and now finally escapes, just in time for Halloween.
Laurie has been waiting patiently for this night since she escaped his killing spree 40 years ago. “Do you know that I prayed every night that he would escape?” She continues: “So I can kill him.”
Halloween hits theaters October 19, 2018.
