Mila Kunis and Dustin Hoffman to the rescue

Celebrities are giving back to the community with the gift of life. Actor Dustin Hoffman saved a man who suffered a heart attack while out running. Sam Dempster was in London’s Hyde Park early one morning when the incident happened, while Hoffman just happened to walk by and immediately call emergency services. “I want to say thank you to Dustin Hoffman. He saved my life,” Dempster told British newspaper The Sun. It took 15 minutes for help to arrive with Hoffman right by his side the whole time. “I have no memory of what happened. The paramedics told me I had been saved by Dustin Hoffman. It’s unbelievable,” said Dempster. The 74-year-old icon isn’t the only one saving lives — actress Mila Kunis helped save a man this past weekend. According to TMZ, a 50-year-old man collapsed while working at the actress’ house in Los Angeles on Saturday. The unnamed man reportedly suffered a violent seizure and was vomiting and coughing up blood after biting his tongue. “Mila came running, had her friend call 911, then rushed to the man’s side,” the website reports. “We’re told the 28-year-old actress grabbed the man’s head… turned it to the side so he wouldn’t choke… while another person stuffed a wallet in his mouth so he wouldn’t swallow his tongue.” Paramedics quickly arrived at Kunis’ home and took the man to the hospital, while the Friends With Benefits star offered to accompany him in the ambulance, but was reassured he’d be fine. The man is reported to have made a full recovery. ~Graeme Mollison

If someone looked like they were dying or in need of medical assistance while being on your property, isn’t coming to the rescue the only course of action you really have, unless you want a possible lawsuit?

It’s not like they performed brain surgery here, calling 911 is pretty much all they did but hey!!! at least they did something.

You never, NEVER, EVER put something in the mouth of someone who’s having a siezure. The only way you can choke on your tongue is if it gets super swollen. You cannot actually swallow your tongue. Putting an object into someone’s mouth isn’t going to fix the swelling and just gives them something they can actually choke on. I’m sure she thought she was doing the right thing, but it was actually really dangerous.

Actually Sara, you can choke on your own tongue…epileptics do it all the time and yes you do put something in their mouth to guard again that. Granted a wallet was a wee bit on the large side…something flat to hold the tongue down is a better choice. Good for their efforts….they could have stood back and done nothing….you cannot be sued for NOT administering first aid…you can be if you do and do it wrong…the courts citing they possibly contributed to death or irreversable damage to the patient….
