Miley Cyrus has signed with Disney Channel to do a fourth season of her hit series, Hannah Montana. The movie based on the series, named appropriately, Hannah Montana: The Movie, has performed solidly at the box office, making $78 million to date and continues to play in theaters. It was rumored because of events that occur in the movie, a fourth season would not be ordered, but the show will return with the Stewarts saying goodbye to their beachfront Malibu home as the series changes settings. “That will provide the catalyst for wonderful new characters and further expand the storytelling opportunities,” said Disney Channel Worldwide president Gary Marsh. The Mouse House has also ordered a second season of the slapstick comedy series Sonny With a Chance starring Demi Lovato, and has lined up Jeffrey Hornaday to direct and choreograph the fourth High School Musical movie.
