Movies opening today include Zack Snyder’s 300 sequel

The sequel 300: Rise of An Empire starring Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green and Game of Thrones Lena Headey opens today. It’s based on the graphic novel Xerxes by Frank Miller, in which Greek General Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading an army that will change the course of the war. Also hitting theaters this weekend is Mr. Peabody & Sherman –  a revival of the 1960s cartoon of the same name. It tells the tale of Mr. Peabody, the world’s most intelligent dog and his adopted son Sherman. When a time machine he invented alter the course of history, it’s up to the duo to set things right again, especially when the past invades the present. No Clue starring Brent Butt of Corner Gas opens across Canada in select theaters. Also opening this weekend in limited release in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver is Steve Coogan‘s Alan Partridge based on the beloved British character.
