Murphy splits with new wife

Eddie Murphy and Tracey EdmondsEddie Murphy has confirmed in a statement that he and his wife, Tracey Edmonds, have split. The two were married in Bora Bora on New Year’s Day in what turned out to be a ceremony that wasn’t recognized legally. They had planed to renew their vows in an official ceremony on American soil. In the statement, Murphy explained, “After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further. While the recent symbolic union in Bora Bora was representative of our deep love, friendship and respect that we have for one another on a spiritual level, we have decided to remain friends.” A source told In Touch Weekly the couple split after disagreeing about plans for the legal ceremony.

Gee, what a surprise! Another tranny-chasing closet case splitting from his beard!

  2. Soleil • January 18, 2008 @ 11:53 AM

    Dear Eddie,
If I was with you, in a loving relationship, I would not give a shit what legal status we have,,, cause I believe in LOVE all the way! All those beauty queens that say they love you, are just some spoiled divas. I will probably never get to meet you, but I love you… When my mulato son was a baby, (his dad is from Africa), I would tell people that Eddie Murphy was his cousin… and some would believe me… Have a nice day! LUV Soleil

Is the “New year’s wedding in paradise” over already?

Quoting Eddie (from one of the leading magazines) after he got married to Tracey “She’s beautiful, intelligent and honest. She’s not lacking one good thing; she’s the whole package.” So how come you are splitting with the woman you love, who means so much to you? Does a legal document so valuable to you ?

No it isn’t … you should get back with her … as you know, it’s NOT so easy to find true love in Hollywood!
We all love you Eddie – and as your fan and well-wisher, I think, a stable and solid relationship should be more important for you than a legal document and oath.

    What a freakin’ joke!

  5. mureen • January 18, 2008 @ 3:02 PM

Let’s leave them alone it’s their life they must know what’s good for them, there is more to the story than we can ever imagine, they will bring it out when they feel like, and if they don’t it’s their life thay can do what they wan’t & when they want to. Good thing there are no kids involved.

Good thing the marriage wasn’t real; saves a lot of hassles with the divorce attorneys and whether or not a pre-nup was drafted and/or signed. She

She should thank her lucky stars and run in the opposite direction really fast; he’s a joke. But, let’s hope she’s NOT pregnant (case in point – Pamela A.).

  7. pm • January 18, 2008 @ 5:35 PM

    You said it sister.

Like we need anymore little Eddie Murphys running around.
The guy can’t keep his pants on.
This lady seems like an intelligent person but I still can’t figure out what she was doing with this loser. Doesn’t she have any self respect.

Once a cheater always a cheater.
Like the last person said, “Let’s hope she is not pregnant”.

  8. Nancy • January 18, 2008 @ 7:58 PM

Hmmmmmm…….Soleil, Soleil…… need to see your Dr. because they make medication that can help your condition!! Oh yes, you do have a mental condition. I mean, how else would you describe what you said about “loving” Eddie Murphy and then telling people that he is your son’s cousin??????? See a psychiatrist girl. I’m sure Britney can recommend one!!

Sounds like Eddie tried to pull a fast one on Tracey! Getting married in Bora Bora…”oh, no dear. I won’t ask you to sign a pre-nup. I love you and trust you…”. He knew full well that marriage was a sham! Now, how much do you want to bet that Tracey expected to get married on American soil believing that Eddie loved her and trusted her and still did not want a pre-nup??? What a fool he is! At least Tracey has found out what kind of an idiot he is…..I mean, she could have stayed with him for many years thinking they were married, and if they would have split up then, she would have looked like a total fool in court trying to get money out of a man she was never married to!

    Never mind Murphy’s private life,

He is a comedic genius. Almost everything he touches is gold. Early Saturday night live, Shrek, 48 hous etc. etc….
Get past his 50 kids and watch the SNL where Gumby was shot.

Hope he keeps making films and goes back someday to comedy sketch.

It seems te media try’s to bring down true talent witht there reporting and some how enhance no talent with the same type of reporting.

  10. Anonymous • January 18, 2008 @ 10:35 PM

Everything he touches is gold? Are you kidding??? Pluto Nash, anyone?

  11. Anonymous • January 19, 2008 @ 12:19 AM

Let’s not forget with the Shrek and any other voice over part he’s done SOMEONE ELSE wrote the part. Eddie only read their material. No comic genius on Eddie’ part.

With respect to Eddie’s “parts” – now there’s comic genius at work. How else do you explain that many kids from that many mothers in that many cities, etc.!

  12. Anonymous • January 19, 2008 @ 3:18 AM

Eddie never should have left Mel B., who has AMAZING legs.

  13. Velvet • January 19, 2008 @ 4:04 PM

All very interesting comments indeed. However, I must agree with Nancy and PM 100%. I’d also have to agree that both Soleil and Arnold need to see a psychiastrist ASAP! Sorry Well-Wisher but you have no idea who Tracey Edmonds is and don’t let that pretty outer package fool you, as far as her soul is concerned, she’s very, very ugly.

Eddie is defunct of character, integrity and commitment. Any man who has 2 babies with 2 different women before he gets married, then gets married and has 5 children with his drop-dead-gorgeous ex-wife like Nicole, who he happened to cheat on twice (once with a hooker), and she’s smart enough to dump his ugly backside, then he hooks up with the British bombshell, Mel-B, then dumps her after finding out she’s pregnant, then to make an even bigger a-hole of himself to deny it is his, but she is smart enough to get a DNA test that eventually proves it is his. Then runs after another man’s wife, Tracey Edmonds (who was married to the incredibly talented and soulful Babyface Edmonds) is a DOG, DOG, DOG!! He will never get the respect he wants from Hollywood no matter how hard he tries. That’s why he didn’t win the Oscar for dreamgirls.

Once a cheater, always a cheater. Once a dog, always a dog. You can take the pig out of the sludge, but you can’t take the sludge out of the pig. And Eddie Murphy is all of that and so much more. You know what they say, if it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it is a duck!

Tracey should be thanking her lucky stars that she found out sooner rather than later what a doosh-bag he is. I mean what does this say about her self-esteem to even want a man like this. Nicole is both beautiful inside and out and she will be just fine raising her 5 children and will have no problems finding another man who has self-respect, loyalty and character, all of which Eddie Murphy is sorely lacking.

I will never support or see another movie he is in. The last one I saw was Dreamgirls and that will be it. I’ve not seen Norbit, Shrek 3 and whatever else he’s done and I never will. My money will be spent on better actors who have class and treat women with respect. Give me Denzel Washington, Will Smith and Blair Underwood any time on any day. All Class acts with a capital “C” who value the women and children in their lives and would never and have never dissed their women in public humiliation such as Eddie.

Good riddance to good garbage. The best advice I could give him is to do some very deep soul searching with a psychotherapist. Maybe he should talk to Bill Clinton because he was able to heal and stop his womanizing and he had to change because of being embarassed in front of the world because he was caught in a very bad lie to his wife, his child, the U.S. government, the Senate and the and the world. Get on it Eddie and find Mr. Clinton’s number because you will continue to slip down the ego-trippin’, slime-ballin’ rapid transit train that you are consistently on and going nowhere fast. Peace!

  14. Arnold • January 19, 2008 @ 4:05 PM

“Almost everything he touches is gold.” Key word almost.
Anonymous you must be a smear writer who is good at re-arranging words! LOL

Anyway Pluto Nash was a a real dog, so much so it will be a cult favourite, like Plan 9 from outer space. Nobody buying that? I didn’t think so.

Please see Eddy on SNL sketches. That was live and that was great stuff.

  15. Arnold • January 19, 2008 @ 4:25 PM

    Oh yeah Velvet,

I have seen a shrink and he has advised me to stay away from blow hards who name themselves after old movies and coarse fabric.

Please see a coles notes writer to help you limit one or two thoghts down from 5000 words to 14. Anyway have a nice day and see the old SNL episodes and you can comment on talent.

  16. Anonymous • January 19, 2008 @ 4:30 PM

Arnold – Even SNL had writers – not all of it was improv. Under 14 words!!!!!!!!!

  17. Gina • January 19, 2008 @ 4:47 PM

    Arnold on January 19, 2008 4:25 pm

If she doesnt want to condense her redundant ranting, a crash course on sentence writing would definitely help.

    Velvet on January 19, 2008 4:04 pm

The period is actually beside the forward slash button, not beside the m. My advise to you is use it. It may help you end a sentence. But I am impressed with the analogy skills you have developed; you just didnt need to use them all in one post. Hahahaha

  18. Gurn • January 19, 2008 @ 5:32 PM

SNL should have been cancelled years ago; it hasn’t been funny since Phil Hartman was a regular.

  19. Karen • January 19, 2008 @ 8:59 PM

Man, they have good PR people to spin out the bullshit, huh? I like his comedic acting but him as a person, NO. He needs to grow up and find out what a real person is like. Not all this fake shit. I could have predicted this would have happened. He should have never left his wife. Someone who put up with him all these years. He’ll never find another woman who’ll do that! Hey, how’s my grammar since it seems so important to you guys….LOL.

  20. Gina • January 19, 2008 @ 9:21 PM

Karen, your grammar is perfecto! Actually, the grammar doesn’t really matter to anyone, unless it’s too funny to pass up.

  21. Anonymous • January 20, 2008 @ 12:47 AM

Eddie was great as the fat woman in Dreamgirls.

  22. My Name is Earl • January 20, 2008 @ 12:51 AM

I’d like to see Eddie play a beautiful woman for a change; he’s always playing fat losers.

  23. Anonymous • January 20, 2008 @ 12:16 PM

Eddie WAS NOT THE FAT LADY in Dreamgirls. He played the drug addicted singer who gave the Dreamgirls their break by letting them tour with him. The “fat lady” you’re thinking of is Jennifer Hudson (from American Idol fame).

If you paid attention you would have realized both Eddie and Jennifer won awards for their respective roles. Even I have to admit he did a pretty good job playing that (one, not two) role(s).

  24. me • January 20, 2008 @ 12:37 PM

Didn’t Eddie win an Oscar for playing the fat woman in DREAMGIRLS?

  25. theoriginalme • January 20, 2008 @ 8:15 PM

Shrek 3 sucked. Big time. And I hate those movies where a man plays a fat woman. There are enough fat women out there to play the role, we don’t need John Travolta or Eddie Murphy or ANY man to play the role. I refuse to watch those movies on the grounds that just the idea of them is stupid.

  26. Arnold • January 20, 2008 @ 9:25 PM

I would like to see a fat woman play John Travolta.

  27. Anonymous • January 20, 2008 @ 11:08 PM

Jennifer Hudson played, as everyone so eloquently puts it, the fat girl in Dreamgirls. She won both the Oscar and the Golden Globe award for portraying the role of Effie White.

Eddie Murphy played the role of James “Thunder” Early, the drug addicted singer who invited the Dreamgirls to join him on his tour. He won the Golden Globe award for the role but lost out on the Oscar to Alan Arkin for his role in “Little Miss Sunshine”.

And, to Gina-blue, thank you for recognizing my style. Should I feel somewhat flattered, or worried?? I share your confusion as well regarding the me/original me signing off forever. Maybe it’s a condition of his/her bail for some other computer offense!?

  28. Gina • January 20, 2008 @ 11:20 PM

A sincere compliment my dear; A very quick and sharp mind indeed!

  29. Anonymous • January 21, 2008 @ 4:48 PM

I didn’t think Eddie was all that convincing in DREAMGIRLS. It was pretty obvious Effie was a man.

  30. BLP • January 21, 2008 @ 6:56 PM

Okay, here we have another classic case of a Hollywood relationship/marriage. Why do celebrities feel the desire to put it all on display and then they have to back track to show how or why they screwed up. Its too bad. Eddie is funny and a star in his own right, and Tracey is beautiful, smart, and good at her job. Obviously they weren’t right for one another which is fine, but take your time people because marriage is more sacred then what Hollywood is making it out to be. They are making it a joke, and its not. Come on people, your an example.
Not only that there are children on both sides to consider, get it together people.

  31. Anonymous • January 22, 2008 @ 9:03 PM

He’s an idiot anyway, but a damn funny one!

  32. Bring It On Adfinitum • January 23, 2008 @ 7:45 AM

That fat suit he wore as “Dreamgirl” Effie was pretty convincing all the same.

  33. Bring It On Adinfinitum • January 23, 2008 @ 7:47 AM

    Ooops! Adinfinitum! 🙂

  34. Anonymous • January 24, 2008 @ 9:21 AM
