Neil Patrick Harris expecting twins

Neil Patrick Harris tweeted on Saturday that he and longtime partner David Burtka, who’s also an actor, are expecting baby twins this October via a surrogate mother. It appears that they visited a surrogacy agency last year, hoping to become fathers. The two have been together for six years and are planning a baby shower in anticipation. Neil (tweetname “Actually NPH”) tweeted: “So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall. We’re super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy…” Just wondering, if he wanted privacy, why would he tweet personal news like this?

LOL..I had something else to say but then i had to think twice. I didn’t know NPH was gay. Not that being gay is a bad thing I just didn’t see that one coming. lol

Ya, he plays the most awesome characters on HIMYM and Harold and Kumar and to hear he was gay a couple years ago was really shocking. Hes the total opposite of what he plays lol. But hey I still like the guy as an actor, hey whatever floats your boat.
I dont think it is that they want privacy for them but moreso the surrogate. Remember the drama around SJP’s surrogate?
Good for them. And see, that’s what makes a good/decent actor. He can make you believe in the character. In this case you’d believe he is a man-whore on HIMYM but in real life he’s gay and now going to be a gay daddy. I think he means he’s spilling the beans before the media get all over it and hound him personally about the status of the child etc, so he puts it out there first to spread the news.
I wonder who’s swimmers they used? He seems like a sensible person but makes such a ridiculous comment in the open. If anything I will give him the benefit of the doubt and agree with Casey and assume he was referring to either the collective we and meaning the surrogate. I would have proposed a different approach perhaps tweeting “I have a very important announcement please go check . That way he could write a short news story on the site and explain his concerns etc.
