Get ready to see your favorite characters – Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf – back together on the big screen soon. Disney has gotten into the holiday spirit and gifted us with news of their plans to release Frozen Fever, a new short based on last year’s incredibly successful film Frozen, which became the fifth highest-grossing film in history and the highest-grossing animated film of all time.
The short takes place on Anna’s birthday and follows Elsa and Kristoff trying their best to make the celebration incredible. There’s one problem though – Elsa’s icy powers get in the way and may jeopardize more than just the party.
Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee reprise their roles as directors alongside returning cast members Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad. Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez – the pair that brought you the incredibly addictive and award winning hit song “Let It Go” – have created an all-new original song that will be featured in the short. It’s pretty safe to assume that it will be another karaoke favorite for many.
The only downside to all of this exciting news is the release date. Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait until March 13, 2015 to see the short when it airs before Disney’s new live action Cinderella in theatres. In anticipation for the big day, take a look at the Cinderella Exhibition featuring the spectacular costumes, original props and sketches from the film.
