New movies in theaters – Jurassic World Dominion and more

Jurassic Park fans have waited four long years for this — Jurassic World Dominion finally hits theaters this weekend. In select theaters, the Indigenous film Portraits From a Fire is playing and next Tuesday, June 14, are one-night only screenings of Forever Golden! A Celebration of The Golden Girls. ~Alexandra Heilbron

Jurassic World Dominion – While searching for the mother of a newborn velociraptor, Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) enlists the help of familiar faces, including Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), and Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum). Grady hopes they can all restore peace to the fragile relationship between dinosaurs and humans. Click here for showtimes.

Portraits From a Fire – Tyler, an eccentric and lonely teenager, spends his days filmmaking, vlogging his Indigenous community, and hanging out with his grandparents. His father, Gord, is emotionally absent for reasons Tyler cannot understand. That is, until he meets Aaron, a mysterious, charismatic, and influential figure who encourages Tyler to showcase his most personal film about his mother’s disappearance to the community, leading to a reckoning between past and future, life and death, and father and son. Forever Golden! A Celebration of The Golden Girls – Celebrate The Golden Girls with a special screening of some of the most memorable episodes from the series. Featured episodes are: “The Competition,” “It’s a Miserable Life,” “The Sisters,” “Scared Straight,” “Sisters of the Bride,” and “The Case of the Libertine Bell.” Playing in select theaters on Tuesday, June 14.
