The action-packed thriller Miss Bala, based on the 2011 Mexican film of the same name, opens today in theaters. If you’re looking to watch something more visually indulgent, Jean-Michel Cousteau’s vibrant sea documentary comes out today as well. Miss Bala – Gloria (Gina Rodriguez) is an American woman who travels to Mexico to visit her friend Suzu. Their night out in a Tijuana club is interrupted when gunmen barge in, shooting everyone in sight. Gloria and Suzu survive, and when the shooters realize Gloria is American, they decide she’s of more use to them alive than dead and begin using her to commit crimes by holding Suzu’s life over her head. Wonders of the Sea 3D – Director and scuba diver Jean-Michel Cousteau and his children Celine and Fabien take us on an underwater oceanic exploration in 3D. Cousteau, a French environmentalist, ocean explorer and film producer teams up with activist and environmentalist Arnold Schwarzenegger to bring a message to the world: “We must protect our oceans!” See the wonders of the sea come to life, in this extraordinary documentary exploring the world under the sea.
