New DVD releases – The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, Daddy’s Home and more

The Hunger Games: Mockinjay – Part 2The box office powerhouse that was The Hunger Games franchise came to a close with the last film in the series, The Hunger Games: Mockinjay – Part 2. But now the epic action-adventure is on its way to the homes of fans everywhere.

The fantasy story starring Jennifer Lawrence reaches its dramatic climax in the fourth film, which leads the list of movies released on DVD this week.

Offering a dose of comedic relief, Daddy’s Home, featuring the hilarious Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, also gets DVD treatment. ~Matthew Pariselli

In the final film in the franchise, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 opens as the rebels decide to infiltrate the Capitol. Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) is still a danger to Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence), but even so, President Coin (Julianne Moore) assigns him the same team.

In the comedy Daddy’s Home, a mild-mannered radio executive (Will Ferrell) tries hard to be the world’s greatest stepfather. But when his wife’s freeloading ex-husband (Mark Wahlberg) comes for a visit, he finds it difficult to compete for the kids’ affection. Linda Cardellini, Thomas Haden Church and Bobby Cannavale also appear.

Filmed in Quebec, Every Thing Will Be Fine follows Tomas Elden (James Franco), who accidentally hits a child with his car while driving aimlessly around the outskirts of town after a trivial domestic quarrel with his girlfriend. In the years that follow, he can’t get over the fact that he feels like a murderer and finds it hard to move on with his life. The film also stars Oscar nominee and Canadian sweetheart Rachel McAdams.

Available for the first time as a set on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD, The Hunger Games: Complete 4-Film Collection includes The Hunger Games, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 with all of the special features from each film’s initial release plus hours of all-new exclusive content including 13 never-before-seen deleted scenes from the first and second films and two all-new featurettes: “Picturing Panem” and “Capitol Cuisine.”
