I can’t believe that all of you are anticipating a movie with such enthusiasm based on a series of disjointed cgi clips. If that is how so many people want to spend their time and money, on meaningless sensory overload, no wonder there is such a lack of quality films.

Sure there is a place for a variety of films, but it is sad so many buy into the marketing hype of shallowness and emptiness. But it seems to fit into the trend of instant gratification and away from building a base of long-lasting quality in our lives.

“Lack of quality films”???????????? I don’t know what your definition of “quality” is when it comes to films but, Transformers is DEFINATELY on MY “quality film” list!! The special effects are out of this world!

PINPRICK: TAKE AWAY THE PIN AND THAT’S WHO U R. this film should be awesome and whatevere films open the week before or after may want to adjust their dates.

Special effects look amazing, but will have to wait for the next trailer that may shed more light on the story. It’s good that they are still making movies for pure entertainment and not sappy crap for academy awards. Michael Bay has had many hits and misses, Hits (Bad boys, The rock, The island, Transformers) misses( armeggedon, pearl harbour, bad boys 2).
will have to wait and see, one thing michael bay has been good at is blowing things up

What is shallow is expecting everybody to have the same opinion as oneself, and putting people down when they do not have the same opinion. People find different things entertaining, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

That’s what it’s all about, “choices”.

I do recognize that people are going to have different tastes (which I said in my original comment.) My point is that the response to this movie is so overwhelmingly gushing based ONLY on cgi clips. There is NOTHING about a story in this preview, but people are calling it the best movie of the year. That is crazy. The reason for movies is to tell a compelling story. If you want to watch crashes and explosions, there are lots of shows on TV which show REAL ones. I guess reality isn’t as good as cgi.

“Blow it up and they will come.”
